What was once a cumbersome task, now held peace in it. The boy let the water flow between his fingers, savoring the coolness between his sore joints, scrubbing the dishes maybe painful, but at least it wasn't violent. His little restaurant was considered a hobby by the other clan members, and thanks to the mysterious omnic's freaky mind control thing, they were forced to humor him, even though it left him a little vulnerable.
Despite that mind control though, from almost four in the morning, he was at the mercy of the elders, the masters of several martial arts. They would finish at six in the evening, with a prompt dinner at seven, following which Ryuu would be granted the freedom to go check on his Ramen bar. At least he got to witness rush hour...
It was good to know at least some of the old clan member's thoughts were still their own, although, in those ideas, the boy sensed a sort of vengeance. He couldn't help but believe that, since he refused the shortcut to mastery provided by his dragon power and opted for the traditional route, the elders hoped to weaken his resolve by working him brutally hard. Nonetheless, Ryuu forced his mind back to the present, an art he was failing to master despite the hours he spent meditating.
At almost 11pm, only a few lazy patrons graced the bar, slowly slurping on their noodles, sipping their tea or sake. The boy busied himself with his work, needlessly clattering the cutlery, as he rinsed and washed them with excessive splashing of water. He liked the sound, simply because this was his chance to make some noise, as an assassin, he was usually forced to being silent... But right now, he was just Ryuu, the bar owner.
