The rain came down steadily, soothingly outside of the large picture windows of the luxurious Hollywood home, perched up on a hill that normally offered a stunning view of the city stretched below them, but today much of it was covered in a layer of fog, giving a mystic and fantastical view to the world outside. It was in the midst of winter, everything outside damp and cold, but inside was warm and pleasant, a few lights giving off warm golden glows in the normally well lit living room, a bit dim today from the grey outside.
Normally Harriett would be in the city today, and Grayson would be at school but what had started as a bit of a cough and a sniffle yesterday had turned into a full blown feverish cold by this morning, her poor son looking uncharacteristically miserable...he'd tried gamely to get ready for school, not wanting to miss out on his classes, but at the same time the relief was pretty clear in his face when she'd asked if he'd wanted to stay home and rest today instead. He was normally such a good student anyway, a day or two to rest wouldn't hurt him.
And she was also one to rarely miss work or a task she was working on, so a few phone calls later to handle what could not be put off, and a few more calls to delegate her work out for the day, and she was able to take the rest of the day off without question or disapproval either. It felt a little naughty, like playing hooky as a kid, but she was also kind of looking forward to it.
"Alright." She came out of her office to find Gray. "That takes care of that...how are you feeling? Can I get you anything else?" She fussed over him a little, resting a hand against his forehead as she did.
