Luke leaned against his locker, carefully eyeing Dianne as she spoke to a host of giggling girls next to her own locker. She was probably showing off about how she dumped him. His jaw was set, staring at her smile with cold eyes. How dare she think it was ok to leave him over a text message? The girl also thought of the dumbest excuses to wriggle her way out of this relationship. She had a problem with him learning a martial art? That made no sense. Didn’t girls usually want their guys to be protective and strong and what not? Luke could be all that given a chance, he was just sure he’d never need to. Granted, the art he dabbled in wasn’t the most defensive type, krav maga was more the ruthless sort. But it wasn’t like he’d ever used it, or rather been caught for employing his tactics on anyone.
In any case, that was no reason to leave him, they were a publicly known pair, this didn’t sit well with him. So far he had always treated her right, despite her incessant drama about other girls, like it was his fault that he was the captain for the soccer team, rich, handsome and smart. She was probably all that too, well the smart part was debatable, but nonetheless, they made the ideal couple. Dianne was rich and pretty and had quite a fan following herself, but he didn’t have any hang-ups Just a few. The few being the inexorably long time she spent with these two other guys, other students were starting to ask questions… Questions he didn’t like.
When the host of girls left her, Lucian strutted towards her casually. There was no way he was letting her leave without a face to face confrontation and some real truth. “Hey there babe, got your text and I’d like to have a little chat about it, face to face,” he said his voice dropping as the couple got closer, till he was almost whispering with his face was next to her ear. Some younger students stared, but most didn’t it was normal for them to be seen canoodling a little. This was no lifetime affair for Vincitore, but he had expected to at least last until the end of the academic and with some luck on her part, maybe even through high school. He turned to the younger ones and winked, before turning to her again “What were you talking about to the girls?” putting his arms on either side of her.
