Her eyes had scoured the small motley crew several times, but the life she had saved was nowhere to be seen. The Amari sighed, the drunk chatter was imbibed with poignancy at the loss of Captain Khalil. The woman was still learning to deal with loss, but she couldn't let her team members fall into despair, so she sat here, watching them drink down another loss. The Amari didn't resort to such crude methods to mask reality and feeling, she learned to feel and draw energy from her emotions to win. Somehow, she wasn't comfortable with the recruit she had saved, was the one who had saved everything not being here celebrating the bittersweet victory. Missing his chance at making himself known and earning some well-deserved appreciation.
"Eh, Saleh" she said nudging her second-in-command, who had just finished his slurry soliloquy about family, his words echoing Pharah's from early yesterday. But he was busy raising his glass, this was following what seemed to be the hundredth toast to a successful outcome. "Where is the tech rookie?" she inquired, gently pulling his hand back down to try and gain his attention. "He has not sustained any grievous injuries and will report for duty right?" she prodded.
"He'sss at home," Saleh replied, hissing his s and layering every word with a thick Egyptian accent. Pharah looked around, the crew was probably too high to notice her absence. Slowly, she excused herself, earning a few tired nods as the people repeated the same stories. Then went to get the tab, as she had promised to her team. While paying up, she ordered an extra platter of steaming food to take away. She made her way back to the headquarters to glean information about Scout's living quarters. Tariq was his first name, she recalled. She spoke to the tech service, which had largely been recalibrated, perhaps also with the man's help. Soon the Amari was armed with the information about his whereabouts and set out to locate him.
It wasn't too tough, there were designated outposts for the Helix members, and he was apparently in one of them. The Amari made her way to his room, ringing the bell and identifying herself when the protocol security beckoned.
