Real Name: Naomi Dillinger
Nickname: Shroud
Age: 31
Nationality: American
Occupation: Thief
Base of Operations: Various
Affiliation: Freelance, highest bidder - may be persuaded to fight Talon
Voice: Emily Berry
Personality: Most are quick to assume that Shroud's affinity for thievery means that she has no morals, but this is not entirely true. While she has no sense of honor whatsoever, she has never considered herself a killer. This philosophy is rooted both in her conscience and her professionalism. Shroud is very often more likely to leave foes dazed and unconscious rather than dead, because a master thief should never have to kill someone as far as she's concerned.
Her feelings on this matter have been forced to relax somewhat given her newfound affliction, however. Now forced to feed on the living, Shroud still does her best not to drain too much, but accidents happen. Those with access to resurrection technology are fair game, however, and she has slightly less trouble killing omnics in general.
Back Story: Many families were left broken in the wake of the Omnic Crisis, and Naomi was simply one more orphan to add to the lot. But it wasn't revenge she sought; no, she was out for something far more practical. It was simple survival that drove her to pick pockets on the streets - at least at first - but in time she found she had a taste for the life of a thief. Eventually becoming devoted full-time to the art of making goods and secrets disappear, she took on jobs from various benefactors.
At the time, even less was known of the Talon organization, and Naomi had no reason to turn down a job from them. It was only once she learned of their indiscretions that she decided the secrets would be worth selling to someone. But even a cat burglar couldn't hide for long from Talon's infiltration specialists, and Naomi soon found herself fulfilling a slightly different role in the organization - as a test subject.
Many attempts had been made to understand and possibly even cure the strange condition of Talon operative Gabriel Reyes. Among many other unwilling testees, Naomi found herself subjected to a similar process, with nanites modified to counteract the rapid cell degeneration. Ultimately the process proved fruitless, and the thief died of heart failure in short order. Yet she awoke in time, in a ditch amidst dozens of bodies. It was their blood that had seeped into her, sustained her.
Unlike Reaper, Naomi's cellular structure remained stable and solid. But her nanites were constantly degrading under the stress of maintaining her life, and required upkeep. In time, she found she could harness the nanites to draw blood from her enemies (or raw energy from Omnics), refueling herself as needed. Taking on the alias Shroud, she now struggles with her strange cyber-vampirism, and does what she can to escape both those from Talon who thought her dead, as well as the ranks of Overwatch who may want to capture her for study. And perhaps make some money on top of it all.
Role: Offense
Weapon(s):
Bare fists, weaponized blood and life-drain.
M1 - Mark: Throw a small blood-projectile at opponent within short to medium range, dealing minor damage and Marking them. Marked enemies have a red handprint on their body that lasts until they leave line of sight for long enough, much like Zenyatta's orbs. Enemies struck in melee are marked automatically. If opponent is already marked, this attack deals extra damage.
M2 - Siphon: Continuously draw lifeforce from all Marked opponents, regardless of distance, dealing damage and receiving health. Health received scales based on opponent's maximum HP, thus making it more effective against Tanks and those under the effect of health-increasing abilities.
Abilities:
E - Surge: Spends Blood Pool to gain armor, heightened speed, increased damage, and immunity to control effects for a few seconds. The greater amount of Blood spent, the greater the increase in armor, speed and damage.
Shift - Swoop: Leap through the air and cling to walls. May leap 3 times before cooldown. Shroud is too lightweight to deal any actual damage on landing.
Ult - Beguile: After a brief charge-up, the user becomes hypnotic to look upon. For the duration, anyone who looks directly at her will find their eyes blinded and will be unable to see, regardless of distance. During this time, she can only move at a medium walking pace, no jumping or Swooping permitted. The ultimate can be aborted early, except leftover ult charge is wasted. The blinded debuff lasts for about 7 seconds.
"Hope you're not afraid of the dark..."
Passive - Blood Pool: Drained life in excess of 100% HP is converted to Blood Pool, which can be spent on Surge.
Height: 5'5
Eye Color: Grey
Hair Color/Style: Red, long
Body Type: Slim, athletic
Clothing Style: Covert, tactical, resists bloodstains
