Name: Athena
Age: --
Occupation: AI Intelligence and Computer Terminal; Support mobile unit
Base of Operations: Watchpoint: Gibraltar
Affiliation: Overwatch
Voice: Recall Clip
Personality:
Athena is calm and, pardon the pun, calculated, and intelligent. Being very stoic -both in expressions and mannerism- Athena is able to assess situations and analyze them clearly and confidently. She is straight-forward with her objectives and views everything as a time-based schedule, quick to pass something off as "irrelevant" if it does not fit any current situation's quota and objective. However, she does have appreciation for culture and she is not without emotions and social and racial compassion. She cares deeply for the ones close to her, especially Winston. As time goes on, her character develops, and she begins to fancy the thought of self-identity and inwardly struggles with it, for she is neither Omnic nor Human. She may have a slight sense of humor, albeit dry, but never is first to openly approach said humor.
Back Story:
Athena use to be an independent individual unit, back before Overwatch was shut down. Manufactured and programmed by the organization's very own scientists in one of the branched bases, Athena was meant to be an independent sentient prototype mobile unit stemmed off of the main AI computer's system to aid in intelligence and recon missions while also serving as support. In other words, this was an opportunity to see how well Athena could operate in the field. Many missions were successful, and Athena became a prized asset. Though, one day, a team was suppose to help escort Athena, who was carrying and was meant to deliver classified intelligence, to the actual Overwatch Headquarters stationed in Switzerland. However, the mission was compromised and the team -including Athena- was ambushed. Athena's mobile unit herself did not end up making the journey, the classified information she was carrying was stolen, and the mission failed. Her body was retrieved for repairs, modifications, and upgrades; however at this point in time Overwatch was meant to be shut down and therefore the project discontinued. The mobile unit laid in dust until, years later, the base in Gibraltar got attacked by Reaper and Talon. The system was, momentarily, hacked, and when Athena rebooted, so did the mobile unit, sustaining under what little repairs and upgrades she was able to receive before the discontinuing of Overwatch.
Now, Athena roams freely, struggling to identify herself as a true sentient independent being and to discover that she can be something more than a regular AI computer system. She also, of course, aids other Overwatch Heroes who had answered to Winston's call, or anyone that is important to the situation at hand (as her development grows, anyone who is "important" slowly changes from situational and relative importance to something much more personal, as she tries to develop her own sense of identity).
Role: Support
Abilities:
Ultimate: System Upgrade (recharges team's ultimates by 30%)
Firewall: As long as Athena is by up to two other teammates, the trio's shields are at constant regeneration; this only lasts a very short and limited time.
Backup Restore: Able to restore a teammate's health by up to half of that teammate's maximum HP.
Weapons: Small plasma cannon for medium-short ranges; does little damage.
Appearance:
Athena has a tall and sleek build, with white-colored over-armor and a black under-covering to protect the sensitive wires and cables underneath. Her arms aren't directly attached to her body; instead they float beside her, attracted to the energy pull her cores give off. On the crest on her chest of her lithe body is her symbol The same symbol can be seen on the crest on her forehead, and her face is compromised of two digital holographic lights on a round black screen and a circular core where the mouth should be. She has voice-and-frequency transmitters and receptors beneath the facial surface of her head armor, allowing her to speak and listen respectively. Her legs, unlike her arms, are attached to her body and are very feminine-like in appearance, her feet ending in sharp points.
She has a cover-mask that she can slide in place on will, including side-metal plates that slide into place, and the circular orb slides up as well to meet through the center -serving as a high-tech view port. This mask is to help protect her screen during combat and to enhance combat focus.
