Mal's parents worked at an omnic morgue, or so he thought. They would bring him "donated" omnic parts and he would tinker with them, hoping to find a way to keep and omnic's mind after death or "backup" their mind. he was tinkering with an omnic head one day and he found a glowing box. he touched it and felt his body rip apart. he then saw what had really happened to the omnic. He saw, through the omnic's eyes, that his parents worked for talon and that they had killed him. he also saw that they killed him because he found out they were using Mal's research to erase an omnic's free will. he then left the omnics memory and found himself in a body of living code he jumped out the window of his room and ran until he found a place to hide. he then decided to fight Talon at every turn and to fond a way to get his research back before someone finished it.
