Personality: Compassionate. Curious. Precocious. Mei has dedicated her life to climate research – all in name of conservation. She dons optimism like so much fur-lined armor, invested in the belief the world is worth saving. Her cheerful humility can be grating on the nerves, saccharine smile incongruous with the trauma of the past decade. It is unclear whether the sunny disposition this intrepid environmentalist is feigned – a bright veneer plastered over loss. Being the best and brightest in her field has emboldened her. She won’t she from fighting for what’s right, even if she punctuates a victory with a flurry of apologies.

Back Story: A member of the Original Overwatch, Mei first joined in an academic capacity, gathering data on the escalating climate events said to be caused by the Omnic crisis. Her work was brought to an abrupt halt when disaster struck her polar research station in the form of a monolithic storm. The entire Watchpint team was forced to take refuge in cryostasis chambers once their strictly rationed supplies finally dwindled to nothing. There they waited for a rescue that never came.

Mei was the sole survivor to be pulled from stasis. In the years she spent suspended in time, a pivot in public opinion had seen Overwatch disbanded. The Eco-Watchpoints stations lay in ruined abandon, their research lost. Following the contact with Overwatch initiated by Winston, she has begun a one woman crusade to visit the derelict eco-watchpoints to salvage any traces of the invaluable information once stored on their servers.

Abilities:
Ice Wall: Mei generates an enormous ice wall that obstructs lines of sight, stops movement, and blocks attacks

Cryo-freeze: Mei instantly surrounds herself with a block of thick ice. She heals and ignores damage while encased, but cannot move or use abilities.

Weapon(s):
Endothermic Blaster : Mei’s blaster unleashes a concentrated, short-range stream of frost that damages, slows, and ultimately freezes enemies in place.

Icicle: Mei can also use her blaster to shoot icicle-like projectiles at medium range.*
