There for You [Gabe]

There was a lot of talking and laughing, then footsteps make their way to the door. Then a bit of Spanish and more footsteps. A older lady answered the door, frowning at the sight before her, turning to call for Gabriel before turning her gaze to Jamie, opening the door more. "Come on in, sweetheart," she'll say with a worried expression so Jamie can enter the house. "Go ahead and wash your face."

Gabriel moved from his room to see who came over, frowning once he sees who it is. "Hey, come on," Gabriel said as he moves to wrap his arm around Jamie's shoulder to help him to the bathroom. "You alright?" he asked quietly, lightly squeezing the other's shoulder. Damn, what happened?

Jamison couldn't help but to keep casting nervous glances behind him as he waited for someone to answer the door, he knew it was unlikely, but there was still a lingering fear that the man might have followed after him. His attention was brought back to the present when he heard laughing voices and footsteps, swallowing and glancing at the woman who answered the door. He knew Gabriel's family fairly well by now, they knew he was prone to getting into fights, same as Gabe. He'd always felt safe here.

When she gave him permission to enter and wash his face he nodded with a small thank you before his eyes met Gabriel's when he came in, "hey Gabe..." He was glad for the support when he put his arm around his shoulder, and immediately set to cleaning his aching face off, glancing over at him with what he hoped was a confident laugh, "I uh...Got into a fight! Some punk caught me havin' a walk...heh..." Bad lie, he knew it was a bad lie, he was too shaken to come up with anything better.

Gabriel stayed silent, giving his mother a smile as she walks off to go back to the living room with the rest of his siblings before turning his attention back to Jamie. "I can tell when you're lying, you know that right?" Gabe asked with a small roll of his eyes as he lets the other clean off his face. "Why would some guy come up and randomly pick a fight? Was he drunk or some stupid thing like that?" He does believe him, to a point. However, Gabriel has his own idea of why he came here beaten up instead of at his own home. Though he does like that Jamie trusts him enough to come over any time he is having trouble with something. "Got any cuts? I have some alcohol to clean it if you have any."

Jamison felt his skin crawl with nerves with Gabriel so bluntly pointed out that he was obviously lying, he scoffed and looked to the side, "yeh..." He gave a humorless laugh and looked down into the sink, feeling a bit now like he wanted to throw up, whether that was from nerves or being socked in the gut he wasn't sure, "s'pose that'un coulda' been done better...Usually pretty good at it." He glanced over at him with a frown on his face, "drunk...Well that ain't far off."

He sighed heavily and shrugged, glancing away, "s'wot 'appens when yeh run yer mouth off. S'wot I deserved." Or at least, that's what had been drilled into his head for as long as he can remember. He glanced over at him and nodded, "Mmhm." He tilted his head the other way to show him a bleeding cut along his cheek, "thanks fer helpin'..." He let out a shkey breath, "he'll know where I am...He'll come t'fetch me eventually but..." It was clear by his wavering voice that he was forcing himself to keep it together, too proud and stubborn to break down over this, "I jus' needed somewhere safe t'hide..."

Gabriel only nodded, moving to dig through the medicine cabinet before pulling out a small bottle of alcohol and some cotton balls. He'll then tip the bottle over once he unscrewed the cap, getting the cotton ball a bit wet before putting the bottle to the side. He stayed quiet, lightly dabbing the cut on the other's cheek with a slight frown. Yeah he had that feeling it was his father. That man never seemed nice. Neither did the mother. "You have a right to complain but.. just need to be careful who you're complaining to sometimes." Ugh, he hates when the father comes over. He usually picks a fight with everyone here too.

"What about that Lucio kid? Maybe he'll help you," he'll suggest softly as he narrows his eyes a bit to focus on cleaning the cut on Jamie's cheek. "But yeah, we can keep you for a while but that's it because of your old man. Piece of shit, he is." Gabriel then frowned. "I, sadly, can't do much to help except shove you under the bed surrounded by boxes and random things."

Jamison was usually never one to let his cool, stony exterior break or crack in front of people, he was unbothered and unconcerned by everything, that was the face he liked to present to the world. But he always had trouble keeping that face up when it was just him and Gabriel. He winced when he dabbed the alcohol on the cut, keeping his eyes glued to the floor, "I wasn't complainin'...I barely said anythin'..."

He could feel the tears bubbling up in his eyes, "he was drunk...He came after me mum...I stepped in th'middle." He bit his lip hard, hard enough to draw blood with his weirdly sharp teeth, "shoulda' stayed th'fuck outta it..." He was shaking now with his fists clenched, trying hard to keep his composure, "shoulda' burned that fuckin' house down like I thought about doin..." He hissed when his tooth sunk through his bottom lip, putting a hand over his mouth, "ff-fuck..."

He looked up from the floor, to Gabriel's face, letting out a shaky breath, "n-nah...I'l go 'ome in th'mornin'..." He wrapped his arms around himself to try and stop his shaking, "I dun wanna gettim' over'ere causin' yer fam'ly trouble..." He looked back to the floor, "c-can I sit down?" Keep your composure, stupid, he chided himself silently, it was bad enough that he was shaking like a leaf, he didn't need anyone to see his fear.

Gabriel stayed deadly quiet, finishing up with the cut on Jamie's lip, narrowing his eyes as he cleans the new wound on the other's lip. "You did what was right," he started quietly, frowning as he puts the objects to the side before resting his hands on the other's shoulders in an effort to calm him down. "You defended your mother and that was the right thing to do," Gabe continued before moving to help Jamie sit down on the floor before sitting down next to him. "You can't keep dealing with this, Jamie. One of these days, he's going to hurt you both so bad that you won't be able to recover. I'm sorry but, I think you gotta get out of there."

Maybe it'll work. Gabriel honestly hopes Jamie takes his advice. Or something at least. "Look, you're fine here as long as possible. Which is until that asshole comes, but please listen. This type of home-life isn't right and it's straight up abuse and neglect. You and your mother honestly need to get out of that situation." He can't help but to worry honestly. His own family is pretty calm and the only arguments is how spicy to make their chili and salsa. Yeah, he dealt with talks with his mother about fights he would get into at school sometimes but that's about it. What Jamie is going through, makes him rather upset.
