I can Fix That [Michael]

He was always told to get to places like the mechanic early if he needed anything fixed. Car-wise or body wise. Can't go to any ol' doctor of course. Though the only one he can really find that fixes Omnics around is a mechanic named Gilbert. He's a bit nervous at first because honestly, he has never had any problems until now. His arm just suddenly locked up and he can't seem to fix it. Usually he fixes his own problems but they were usually tiny things but this time it's different. With a sigh, Michael made it to the shop, holding his arm close before noticing the shop barely opening. Right on time.

"Uhm, excuse me?" Michael asked softly as he approaches the mechanic. "By chance do you.. uhm.. repair Omnics? I have.. a bit of a problem," he continued with a nervous expression on his face along with a frown. Hopefully this guy doesn't get violent with him or anything but then again not many people - save for Lucio and Jamie - know that he's an Omnic to begin with. Once they know though, forget it.

Gilbert had been in the break room of his shop fixing himself a nice cup of coffee when he heard footsteps, which was odd, since most people tended to drive their cars into the garage for work. Did they maybe break down somewhere? He was a tad put off by this possibility, as it meant he would most likely have to assess the situation. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths at the counter before turning into the main part of the shop where another young man was waiting.

His eyes instinctively shot to the floor when he was questioned, and he replied with a nod and a soft voice, "I do. What...Uhm...What seems to be the problem?" He took a moment to glance at his arm, which he was holding to himself, "arm?" He looked up at him, or at the wall behind him, as he gave a crooked little smile, "I can...uh..." There was a long pause as his brain had to sputter with his nerves a bit, "I can fix that..." He waved for him to follow, to the back where the more delicate tools were kept, he was one of the few mechanics out there who actually worked on omnics, he supposed word of mouth about that had gotten around, though this one hardly looked like any omnic he'd seen before.

He was actually kind of cute.

When he got a positive reaction to the question, Michael smiled as he follows Gil towards the back, glancing at the delicate tools with a curious look. He had everything. It's so cool. "Thanks a bunch, it means a lot. I know I don't look like one but.. I'm one of those special ones I guess," he'll say, a bit nervous actually about this whole thing to begin with. "I.. uh.. hope I'm not bugging you," Mich continued softly, moving to sit down on a chair as he looks down at his arm to try and get a better look. Since his acceptance with Lucio and Jamie, he has been slowly starting to show more of his mechanical side and actually.. some wiring seemed to have messed up to the point that his arm isn't usable. How embarrassing.

"Maybe it's the wiring or something like that. I never came to.. mechanics or anything since I never had such a big problem before. Guess it's finally getting to me or something." Talk, yeah. When Michael is nervous, he'll ramble on and on.

Gilbert nodded as he listened to him, mulling over his tools to decide which might be the most appropriate to use, "heard of your type." He glanced back at him, "never seen one." He hated how brief and concise his words always came out, it only served to heighten the anxiety he was already feeling, he hoped he wasn't coming off as short or rude. He shook his head when he mentioned bugging him, "no. Sorry...Uh..." His brain seemed to hitch again as he picked up a few tools to start with, sitting down next to him with his gaze cast down, "need to open your arm up." His movements were feather soft as he delicately opened up his arm, showing all the care in the world.

He nodded in agreement when he spoke and looked it over, turning to grab a few more tools, "this wire is disconnected...uh..." Another long paused before his brain sputtered to life again, "it controls movement." He looked up at him with a brief smile as he went to work fixing the problem, "I understand." He found it easier to talk when he was working, able to focus on something other than the hot wash of anxiety eating at him, "It took me a couple of years before I went to see a psychologist..." He sighed, "I was scared." It had taken a massive panic attack for him to realize that he was far from okay, "my name...uh..." He swallowed, "Gilbert..." He flashed him another quick smile before looking down again.

He then laughed softly as he patiently waits, letting the other man take his arm for a moment to examine it and opening it up. Someone's nervous. Michael could tell but he'll only smile in hopes that the other will know that he isn't here to cause any harm like everyone else thinks. Reminds him of Jamie a little bit when he's nervous. He'll then look down at his arm as Gilbert worked, pointing out the wire and Michael only frowned a bit. "I wonder how it got disconnected." That's a first. "Good thing it's not too hard then, right?" He asked, glancing up at Gilbert with a smile before turning his gaze back to his arm. Though when he introduces himself, Mich glanced up to catch that smile before returning it again. "I'm Michael, nice to meet you."

Gilbert poked his tongue out as he worked, squinting behind his round glasses as he leaned in closer to see, "easy fix. But...Uh..." He shook his head, glancing up at him a moment, "you couldn't have fixed it yourself. Dangerous." When he questioned how it had disconnected, he looked thoughtful, "it happens. Sometimes it'll just get jostled out." Michael. That was a nice name. Gilbert nodded and chewed his lip as he delicately connected the wire back into place, taking a moment to make sure all the others around it were firmly in place before he began to close him back up, "nice to...Uh..." He grumbled softly, forcing his brain into action, "meet you too...Sorry..." He kept his eyes glanced down, "I take medicine for it but...uh..." He frowned, "it's still bad..." He turned away and started to put his tools away, sounding sad, "I'm probably a...Uh..." He sighed, "a nightmare to talk to..." He was annoying, slow, took way to long to get his thoughts out there, people always thought he was being rude, not to his face, but he'd heard whispers, "sorry..." He repeated again, looking back at him, "it uh...Working?"

Dangerous? Maybe if he does it himself, he'll unhook the rest of the wires and make a bigger mess. Makes sense. "Oh, well.. good thing I decided not to do it myself then and that it's not really bad." Once Gil leaned away to close his arm, he'll watch the man for a moment before noticing that sad tone in his voice, which made him frown. "That's alright. I'm patient," Mich said with a small laugh, head tilting slightly as the other man puts the tools away. Though that comment made him farrow his brows a bit before shaking his head. "A nightmare to talk to? Not at all and don't be sorry, it's who you are." The question made him hum a bit, looking down at his arm before moving it and flexing his fingers with a smile. "Yeah, it's working good. I was worried for a bit there. Thanks, Gil, for taking the time to fix it. How much do I owe you?"

Gilbert nodded and turned back to him, his eyes automatically seeming to glue to the floor, "yeah...You uh...You need the tools. It's delicate." He couldn't help a small smile when he said he was patient, though he'd already picked that up from the man, he didn't get pushy or rude when he seemed to pause in his thoughts like most people did, "I can tell." He looked to the side and swallowed, "people get uh...They get pushy when I can't answer right away." He reached a hand to rub over his opposite arm, "that just makes me panic more...I hate it." He smiled a little more when he said he wasn't a nightmare to talk to, chuckling softly, "yeah? Feels like it sometimes. Thanks..." He came and sat back down beside him, shaking his head, "no charge...I don't uh..." He breathed, trying to calm himself, "I don't charge omnics to fix them..." He rubbed his hands over his face and chuckled, "I'm sorry...I'm a mess all the time...It's horrible..." He wasn't used to dealing with customers face to face like this.

Michael only tilted his head once more, frowning a bit with a low noise sounding in his throat. "That's not nice of them," he'll reply quietly, huffing softly as he fixes the sleeve that he has rolled up earlier in the day because of his arm. "No one has patience these days huh?" Michael then reached out to rest his hand on Gil's shoulder with a bright smile. "You're welcome and thanks, that's really nice of you to do that." Wait, something's acting up. What is it? "Well since I'm here, maybe you can.. help me with something else that came up," he'll start as he moves his hand away before pointing to his chest with a small frown. "It hurts a little in here for some reason." Aw, Michael. "Oh and, don't be sorry. It's not your fault and I don't think you're a mess at all."

Gilbert smiled more at him with a gentle nod, chuckling softly, "they don't..." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, looking at the floor with a frown. "most people they...Uh..." He swallowed, "they deal with it. Because I uh...I do good work..." He glanced up when Michael rested a hand on his shoulder, smiling, "well it's...Uh...I mean...Ugh..." He couldn't seem to figure out the words, "omnics aren't cars...I'm not fixing an object..." He shrugged, "I'm fixing a living thing...Shouldn't charge for that." Or at least he saw omnics as living things, as living as he was, it was an opinions that got him funny looks sometimes. He glanced back over at him when he indicated that his chest hurt a little, tilting his head, "I can...Uh...Open it up and look?"

Michael only stayed quiet to listen, humming softly before sighing a bit. "Yeah, I've heard that you've done a lot of good job on cars and Omnics too, that I've looked up. We.. try and stay out of the way sometimes because of everything that has happened." Can't help but to be a bit upset at that but that's where his human-look comes in. So people won't know. "Thanks," he'll say before blinking a bit at the question, a fan making a small whirling noise in response before nodding. "Yeah, sure," Mich answered, moving to grab his shirt before pulling it off so it could be easier for the other man to get to his chest.

Gilbert nodded and sighed softly, "I try." He hadn't realized his name was out there quite so much, but he was glad that people seemed satisfied with the work he did, even if they tended to not like him as a person, "I think it's...Stupid." He shook his head, "I've never...Uh...Never seen anything different about you." He shrugged, looking to the side, "you live and...uh...you die...No difference." Aside from the materials they were made out of, this mentality had always caused a lot of rift between him and his family.

He looked up with Michael pulled his shirt off, turning just in time to hide the blush on his face as he gathered the tools he would need, "I have to be really careful here...Are you sure you want me to?" He glanced back at him, blush finally gone, "it's very delicate. I'm confident I wont hurt you, but I want to make sure." He gave a soft smile, "I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything." He found himself relaxing a bit, his nerves and his stuttering seeming to calm as he spoke to Michael.

Michael only smiled more at the small response before letting out a small laugh, moving to run his hand through his hair as he glances off to the side. "It is stupid and that's one of the reasons why I.. look human so I can avoid any confrontation." Michael isn't really good at sticking up for himself unless the situation really, honestly, calls for it. "I mean, last time I looked.. more robotic, I nearly died so my old gang decided to try and make me look more human." And it worked. "And yeah, there's no real difference. Sure the war made the connection between Omnic and Human more.. screwed up but a lot of us are still trying."

He then sighed as he turned his gaze back to Gil, before nodding. "I'm sure, I mean.. it just started happening and I have no idea why," he'll mumble with a frown and with an concerned expression on his face. "You won't make me uncomfortable, promise."
