Real Name: Alec McTavish
Nickname: Biohazard
Age: 24
Nationality: Scottish
Occupation: Scientist (former)
Base of Operations: An abandoned laboratory
Affiliation: Neutral
Voice: David Tennant
Personality:
Alec is a quiet and polite one, rarely drawing much attention to himself unless he absolutely has to. This is matched with his softened voice and steady demeanor, keeping in his energy. Alec is very attentive and well-mannered towards everyone he meets, even when his darker tendencies get the best of him. Considering what he's become, he isn't quite used to physical affection (or any sort of sudden contact), and he can easily become anxious when put into such situations. Alec believes in answering everything with a fair amount of logic, regardless of any hurt feelings.
Having been twisted up for so long by his past, Alec doesn't have much in the way of experiencing deeper connections or relationships. In fact, Alec is much more prone to being socially tone-deaf, to the point of creeping the scrap out of others. Even an innocent joke can be taken the wrong way (or not be understood by anyone at al), and Alec would honestly be none the wiser. Alec has been learning to be more social, if nothing else but to help further himself towards keeping his own humanity. Knowledge and facts speak to Alec more than anything, even as he secretly yearns for attention.
Although Alec can be soft and kind, when he's working in the lab or the battlefield, it's a completely different story. While he does keep a level of manners and courtesy, he takes an immense amount of joy in discovering new forms of science and mayhem. Whatever new opportunity for discovery crops up, you can count on Alec to seize each and every opportunity. Anything that gets in the way of his work is often dealt with personally, and very much painfully. While Alec himself rarely lashes out or goes berserk, continued disarray with his experimenting will lead to such results.
Alec very much lives for his work, having developed a love for science throughout his life. He enjoys flaunting his knowledge at every opportunity, and showing up other researchers even more so. Alec considers himself above most scientific minds, snarking away at anyone who dare claims to be more knowledgeable than he may be. Naturally, this leads to the occasional thoughts of cold and calculated murder, but for the sake of not attracting the authorities or Overwatch, Alec keeps this in check. He enjoys studying every detail to the letter, chronicling new discoveries and watching over them for days on end. While this does often lead him to wander off, he usually tries to find his way back into the fold afterwards.
Deep down, Alec continues to struggle with finding his own place in the world. His monstrous form often frightening others, he wonders if he had any hope of fully using his powers for good...or fully succumbing to evil. There's also the odd problem of a familiar voice in his head, acting as some sort of moral compass. Alec would rather not come to the obvious answer of who she is, but the more he thinks about it, the more horrified he becomes. Still, he will talk to the voice on occasion, if not else but to kill the boredom.
Back Story:
Alec was the son of a powerful family that owned McTavish Toys, an international company that has provided children's entertainment for generations. The family had many people under their employment, but human and Omnic. Even as conflict brewed between man and machine, the McTavish clan saw to it that no harm would be done to their workers. Alec himself had been interested in science, much like his older sister, Shirley. When it came time for the old guard to retire, Shirley took the mantle of leading the company into a new era with zero hesitation.
The two siblings had been working on one particular project; eco-friendly bio-computers, made up of nanobots, proteins and algae. From what they planned, these organic systems would inhabit the bodies of mechanical suits and become helpers/entertainers for families all over the world. Their base form took the shape of multicolored vats of "living" slime, absorbing data and assimilating anything that comes in contact. Alec, Shirley, and their Omnic assistants had been working out the kinks within these slimes, knowing that human contact would lead to horrific results...
However, one night, the Omnics that the McTavish siblings worked with began to revolt. They tried to escape, the lab being destroyed all around them, but more Omnics began to surround them. In a last-ditch effort to protect her, Alec covered Shirley as they were both shot by the renegade Omnics. Their consciousness fading, they both fell down into a vat of blue slime, never to be seen again. The media declared them both dead, another unfortunate casualty of the first Omnic Crisis.
However, this is not the end of Alec's story.
While Shirley was assimilated completely within the slime, her body disappearing, enough data was taken to recognize human DNA and brain functions...along with a second life still hanging on. It latched onto the young man's remains, keeping him alive while also rewriting itself to serve under the commands of its other creator. Alec emerged a newly-born cyborg creature; nothing more than a skeleton, encased brain and eyes wrapped within a blob. Eventually, the blob reformed itself into a human-like body with "hair" and limbs. Horrified at the events and what he had become, he quickly took a still-intact containment suit and fled into the shadows. From there, he continued to build and work in secret, the occasional faint voices of his departed sister echoing within his troubled mind...
Role: Defense
Abilities:
Passive: Wallcrawler - Biohazard can stick onto walls and ceilings, gaining new vantage points for his various attacks. Staying idle for too long will peel him away from his spot, however.
Ability 1: Slug Line - When held down, Biohazard leaves behind a trail of non-damaging slime whenever he moves, gradually disappearing after 2-3 seconds. When walked on, the trail will slow and eventually keep enemies still for a brief moment, the longer they keep walking within the slime.
Ability 2: Slime Tendril - Biohazard fires out a tentacle of slime from his back, pulling him towards a new location or keeping his tethered to an enemy or ally or a few seconds. The target would not be able to run off in this state, though Biohazard's movements will pull them and make them flail about.
Ability 3: Venom Shield - BIohazard coats nearby allies in purple ooze, providing temporary shielding. In addition, melee attacks inflicted on shielded allies poisons the enemy in return, gradually damaging them over a short period of time.
Ultimate: Meltdown - Biohazard, his containment suit overloading, opens up the numerous exhaust ports in his suit and lets his slime explode out, pushing enemies back. This move ends up coating the surrounding area in acid-slime. The slime floor gradually damages enemies the longer they stay in the area, and there's also a chance of enemies slipping and falling down for a brief moment.
Weapon(s): Slime Launcher - A cannon-like extension of Dara's contaiment suit that sprays copious amounts of his acidic slime. Continuously getting hit with this will slow enemies to a crawl as the slime on them builds up.
Alt-Fire: Biohazard fires out a slime-grenade, exploding on contact and damaging enemies. Firing on an ally gives them a temporary slime-shield.
Melee: Biohazard generates a slime-spear from his launcher and jabs it forward.
Height: 5'3"
Eye Color: Purple
Hair Color/Style: Black, short, messy and strangely sticky. Also, sideburns.
Body Type: He's mostly a humanoid blue slime-person, with some human body parts left intact. There is a slit where his teeth is, acting as a "mouth", along with additional slits around his eyes acting as "eyelids". His messy hair is made up of slime as well, intimating real hairs.
Clothing Style:
Most of the time, he keeps to his containment suit. When out of the suit, he tends to cover himself with lab coats, casual t-shits and jeans with sneakers...though they often get drenched and stained before too long. he also own a pair of reading glasses, perfect for researching.
