Getting to Know You [Gabriel]

Despite people practically glaring at him and throwing him quiet insults and growls, Gabriel had learned to ignore it all. McCree was coming around, though, although rather slowly. While Lucio was the nicest one to him out of everyone else. He doesn't blame them though, of course. Gabriel walked into the break room, his boots echoing a bit across the floor and the first person he'll see is Jamie. Though he doesn't seem like his usual self like he usually is, especially around the musician. He didn't have his mask on this time, just his hood but he didn't want to seem too scary to anyone. But right now, he's curious about why Jamie is so down. He'll walk over to where he sat, sitting down across from him with a low noise. "Mind if I sit here?" Gabriel asked rather softly, resting his hands on the table.

Junkrat didn't look up when he heard the echoing of boots coming down the halls, too busy mulling over his own morose thoughts to notice much of anything. He did glance up, however, when he noticed who'd walked in. He didn't know much of who Gabriel was before coming to be with them, he knew that he'd been known as Reaper, and he knew that he'd worked for Talon for a spell, but that was the limit of his knowledge.

Because of his lack of experience with the man beyond vague stories, he didn't have the same animosity or fear that some people seemed to have, or maybe it was just because he kind of understood. He knew what it was like to have people give you a dirty look just for breathing wrong, he supposed they weren't all that different, "s'a free country..." He muttered softly, not for any ill will towards him, but more due to his own ill tempered mood, "wot 'ave yew been up to?" He figured he would at least try and make conversation, what could it hurt?

The question made him frown just a bit before shrugging slightly, tapping his clawed finger against the table lightly. "Nothing much. Not allowed to do a lot, actually. Just wonder around and talk with Lucio when I can," he'll answer truthfully as he watches Jamie for a moment before leaning back in his seat. "How about you, hm? You seem upset about something and maybe I could help?" Why not? Might as well try and make a new friend while he's here anyway. There's nothing else he can really do without everyone getting angry at him. Yeah, they have every right to be mad at him but it still hurts a bit. What they refuse to acknowledge that he's still a bit human and can have emotions. Oh well.

"Look, before anything, I want you to know I'm not here to insult you or anything. I'm also glad you don't seem frightened of me as well, means a lot already," he'll mumble, moving to put his hood down with a low noise. It's true, Jamie doesn't seem scared of him or anything like some recruits are.

Jamison looked over at him when he spoke and let out a soft laugh, "kinda feel yew there, mate...People keep a close eye on me." He waved his hands in a mock spooky gesture, "afraid of the mad Aussie bomber...Phft. Like I'm jus' gonna blow this whole place up." He rolled his shoulders in a shrug, then smiled at the mention of Lucio, "figures, Lucio's amazin'...Friend's with everyone." There was an affectionate tone in his voice as he spoke, then his face fell and he sighed, "Ah jus' th'new guy tryna' pick a fight with me." He scoffed, "called me a stupid savage, 'cause I'm from th'Outback. Said I's jus' gonna betray everyone...'cause I was a criminal." He looked over his metal hand with a scathing eye, "seems like no matter wot I do everyone still hang where I'm from and wot I done over me'ead." It was infuriating.

He glanced up when he spoke, tilting his head, "I don't know yew enough t'be scared of yew...Besides. I get it...Sort of." He glanced into his latte with a thoughtful expression, "people are scared of me...Because I got kangaroos loose in me top paddock. Because I hear voices and see things...I ain't that scary." He let out a soft sigh, "Lucio's th'only bloke who never once saw me as any'a those things...He sees me an' thas' all..." He chuckled softly, then glanced over at Gabriel, "so no, I ain't scared of yew. Even knowing wot kinda shit yew did, I still ain't scared of yew." He shrugged, "people change. I changed...I jus' wish everyone could see that..."

"I believe you won't do anything of the sort," Gabriel responded rather truthfully, raising an eyebrow but he couldn't help but to grin softly at the affectionate tone when he mentioned Lucio. Yeah he has seen the two around a lot, especially when they don't have things to do. The two are practically inseparable and nothing can tear them apart. It's rather cute. Ah, young love. Honestly, he knows that it'll last a good long time. "Yeah, bright young man. He never stops talking about you, honestly. That's how I learned some things, other than what I've heard through the news." Then when Jamie mentioned who tried to pick on him, Gabriel huffed softly. "I'll handle him, don't worry. I've dealt with jackasses for a long time. Also, I don't care where you come from, just as long as you do good. And you have been."

Gabriel chuckled softly as he glances to the side for a moment before looking over at the other man again. "Some think I'm scary because of who I currently am. A 'smoke monster' they say or the god of death. Things like that." A shrug. "You're not scary at all, trust me. I've seen you and I honestly don't think you're scary." Gabriel then leaned on the table again with another chuckle. "I'm glad you found someone who treats you like you're human, no matter what. He loves you a lot." Though hearing that made Gabriel frown before sighing. "I wish that too, honestly. I mean.. Morrison and the rest have the right to hate me but they refuse to see that I am trying to change."

Jamison looked up and gave the man a thankful smile when he spoke, chuckling softly, "least a few of yeh don't..." Most of the people who'd been here longer knew him by now, but he caught hell from most of the newbies who still trickled in occasionally. His face flushed when Gabriel mentioned Lucio, putting a hand to his cheek and looking embarrassed, "oi...Has he? Wot's 'e been sayin' about me?" He knew it wouldn't be anything bad, but he was curious what the man was telling people, "he really is an amazin' person...I...Love him a lot." He chuckled, then he glanced over with a wide grin, "Good. Thanks, mate...It really means a lot t'have someone watchin' my back." It was hard for him to believe people were actually afraid of this man.

He snorted when the man told him what people called him, shaking his head, "phfft. People are stupid. Yew ain't none of those things." He shrugged simply and chuckled softly, "nice t'have someone who knows wot it's like..." He breathed and rested his cheek in his hand, frowning, "I could live with alla' that if they wouldn't call me stupid, uneducated, slow...I ain't none'a that...An' even if I am it ain't my fault." He mumbled in a softer tone, sounding bitter, "yew don't learn shit like that in th'Outback...Yew just survive. Nothin' else matters." He'd like to see them last more than a day out there.

"People only focus on the past, not the present or the future. Not sure why but that's how a lot are," Gabriel mumbled with a low noise. Though he couldn't help another grin appearing on his face at the question. "He just tells me that he loves you, that you're really sweet. All the loving, gushy stuff. Nothing bad, I promise," he answered with a small laugh. "He likes to think ahead also, believes that you two will last a long time. It's real sweet, actually." Gabriel then tilted his head at that. "Of course I have your back."

That made Gabriel nearly laugh but he won't say anything in return for it. "You haven't seen what I can do, huh?" He asked, moving a bit to get more comfortable. "Uneducated? Ha, reminds me of McCree. He was raised in a gang who didn't teach him nothing but to steal and kill. Taught him all I knew and if you want, I can do the same for you."

Jamison's face lit up considerably when Gabriel mentioned the things Lucio said, chuckling softly, "looking ahead, eh?" He ran a hand through his hair and looked thoughtful, "man if it weren't for the fighting and missions...I'd like t'uh...y'know..." He gestured awkwardly for the words and then blushed deeper, "marry 'im..." He laughed and slapped a hand over his face, snorting softly, "little shit's gone an' made me so domestic..." He gave him a genuine smile and nodded, "I'll have yer back too then, I'll rough up anyone who badmouth's yeh!" There was a sure nod at that, Gabriel was a good man, he wouldn't let anyone say otherwise.

He narrowed his eyes at that and got a rather dangerous grin, "an' yew ain't seen wot I kin do. Not so diff'rent." He laughed, but it died off and he tilted his head when he mentioned teaching him, "yew'd do that?" He let out a heavy sigh and looked embarrassed, "w-when Lucio lost his hearing...I had no way t'talk to 'im..." He looked down, "I couldn't read wot he was sayin' or write for 'im..." He ran a hand through his hair and frowned, "I jus' wanna...Be able t'write t'him...Like..." He blushed, "love notes 'n stuff..."

That's adorable. Gabriel couldn't help but to smile more, leaning a bit on the table. "Now that's sweet. He would love that, I think," he'll reply before shrugging a bit. "Maybe it's a good thing. Having someone there to keep you in line and everything, it's nice. If you ever want to pop the question, just come to me and I'll make everything special. He'll probably cry, just a warning. Every time he gushes about you, he gets teary eyed since he's so happy," Gabe added before smirking. "Thanks. Well, don't go hurting people over it though. Not a good idea. Don't want them to be right."

"Then perhaps you and I should go on a little trip, maybe we can bring Lucio along if he wants," he suggested before frowning a bit. "Of course. I'm sorry to hear that too, but he has improved that I've seen. He made it possible to still make music, poor thing." Gabriel then straightened up a bit, head tilted with a chuckle. "I'll teach you and don't worry, I'm actually really patient. There's no rush in learning these things."

Junkrat laughed and shook his head, "I'd like to...Jus' no time fer it I guess..." He rested his cheek in his hand and sighed softly, "too much shit goin' on all th'time..." Even now while they were on down time getting their footing again, everyone was still waiting with bated breath for the call to action, not a good environment for marriage proposals, "maybe some day. Ye'll be th'first person I come to, thanks mate..." He got a somewhat mischievous grin and looked to the side, "Hmm no promises. I am a trouble maker after all."

He looked up curiously when Gabe mentioned a trip, tilting his head, "a trip? Where to? I mean I'm game, but curious!" He glanced up at him when he offered to teach him, looking to the side with a chuckle, "yew'd do that fer me?" His expression became embarrassed after a moment, "I feel like an idiot not knowin' how t'do basic shit like that..." He ran a hand through his hair, "yew don't learn that shit out there...Yew learn how t'survive...M'sick of people thinkin' we're all savages..." He frowned deeply, looking put off.
