Back Story:

Ten years ago the German doll maker Robert Steiner was dragged into a theatre by his wife, who wanted to watch a rendition of Schostakowitsch's ballet 'Hamlet' performed by a group of young, but very talented dancers. Convinced that he would be bored to death Steiner was surprised that he actually found himself enjoying the performance – even more so than his wife.
While she quickly forgot about the ballet – saying that it was indeed a waste of time, Robert couldn't stop thinking about the elegance and grace of the dancer's movements and soon decided that he wanted to build a doll capable of replicating the moves.
He soon started working on what he was sure would become his magnum opus – his masterpiece. Completely obsessed by his idea he started to neglect everything else. Only having eyes for his doll he often skipped meals, forgot to shower and worked night and day until he fell asleep in his workshop. His wife started arguing, but seeing that Robert only ignored her she left him. By the time they divorced she could barely even recognize her former husband.
It took Robert almost four years and countless failures and prototypes to finally finish the doll, he proudly named 'Elster' – somehow the name seemed to have sentimental value; maybe it was the name of a long forgotten lover, he thought, though it didn't really matter.
Being but a doll maker Robert then realized that even though he had build a beautiful machine, he had no idea how to make it move.
Not giving up yet, he brought his creation to an engineering fair, displaying her, hoping that someone who knew something about AI would get interested in helping him. Soon enough a young programmer by the name of David Hanson approached him, wanting to buy Elster.
Reluctant at first, Robert then agreed – he had debts and needed the money.


Elster was sold, though her new owner mistook her name to be 'Elstr' due to Roberts unruly writing. A year later Elstr finally came to live, though her AI was significantly inferior to those of the Omnics. Following her makers wish David then took her to America, where she soon became a star actress.


Personality:

Elstr is a rather simple machine that mostly relies on getting commands, though she is unable to distinguish whether someone is trustworthy or not, making her follow literally every ones orders.
Left on her own she tends to be very curious, especially in new environments, though she sometimes seems a little lost and will try to seek out guidance.
Yet unable to have feelings she mostly acts on logic, making her seem rather cold and calculated.
