Getting Aquainted [Rein/Ana]

This place was certainly different from Gibraltar....or pretty much any other base, military or otherwise, she'd worked out of. But that was the advantage of it...no one would be looking for an operation like theirs here, at least not as the first, most obvious choice. But it was still taking a little getting used to.

At the moment Ana was in the kitchen and break room that had been set up for everyone, making tea and musing over the recent turn of events that had been happening lately, they'd made the right call getting out of Gibraltar, she just wished they'd decided to do it sooner before things got as rough as they did. Well...these were mistakes they would not make a second time she thought, as she waited for water to finish heating up.

As Ana was making tea, Reinhardt was organizing the armory that he had set up. It was mostly shelves and racks that weapons could be place on though he had made a bit of a display for his armors. On one was his original crusader armor, or what was left of it after his fight with Reaper. Whiskey had said it was reparable but Reinhardt chose to keep it as a reminder. On the other was Balderich's armor restored to its former glory. He polished it up before taking a step back and admiring it, the hammers leaned against their respective armors. He then headed off to join his wife, wrapping his arms around her and kissing the top of her head. "I must say, while I miss the Mediterranean Climate of Gibraltar, I certainly feel a whole lot safer here." He moved to stand beside her, leaving a hand on her back.

Eventually the Aussie's wandering had brought him to another large section, he would have to ask Jack to print him a map of this damned place so he could stop being lost. The place felt so empty, it was so spacious that it felt rare to see another person passing through the halls, He sighed, it was downright depressing. He shook those thoughts off as he saw shadows against the wall, was that the break room? He was quick to follow them, poking his head in, looking relieved to find Ana in there, "Oi mum! Wo--ah..." He ducked behind the door frame when another figure stepped in, but his eyes widened when he saw who it was.

"Hooley dooley! Are yew Reinhardt?!" He was quick to approach the pair, grinning wide with an excited look, "yer even bigger in person!" He hadn't stopped to consider the fact that Reinhardt hadn't actually spoken to him yet, until he paused, a little fretful when he considered what he might know about him, "Ah uh...Th'name's Jamison!" He gave a grin that was a bit too wide and nervous, clearly trying to NOT look like a suspicious criminal in front of one of his childhood heroes.

Ana leaned back against Reinhardt, content to rest against him for the moment until he moved. "It'll certainly be less obvious...who is going to think to look for us in what did he call this place? Iowa? Indiana? Something with an I..." She moved to collect the kettle which was boiling.

As she did Jamison came in to join them and she smiled over at him, she hadn't seen him around much in a while, though it was a large place and they were still establishing everything, it was easy for people to get scattered.

"Hello Jamison, would you like some tea?" She offered, even as she watched his reaction to Reinhardt. She looked between the two, watching the interaction unfold.

Reinhardt eyed Junkrat, feeling as if he'd seen the Australian before. "Yes, I am he." Reinhardt said, grabbing Junkrat's hand with a strong grip and shaking it. "Jameson you say...Have I seen you somewhere before?" He mused, taking a cup of tea for himself and sipping it. "Wait...Aren't you one of those thieves?" He glared at Junkrat and then at Ana. "You didn't mention that we had thieves on the team now...And why does this one think your his mother?" Reinhardy said, raising an eyebrow at the pair and sighing. "Why do I even question things anymore...After everything we heard happened at Gibraltar with Talon, I suppose we can take all the help we can..."

Junkrat could have melted under the powerful gaze of the gigantic German, swallowing and instinctively hunching back down, "I uh...Er..." Well shit, so he did recognize him? He looked amazing when the man took his hand in a firm shake, laughing, "jeeze yew got a grip like a steel trap." He realized the hilarity of his statement considering the weapons he liked to utilize, snickering, "Ha! Puns." His attention was drawn again when Reinhardt called him a thief, which struck him and caused him to stand up straight again, puffing out his chest, "with all due respect, sir. We've left that loife be'ind t'join this team." He shrugged and looked to the side, "I can't clean me record of th'shit I've done. But I ain't that person anymore." He tried to match Reinhardt with a sure gaze, "yew kin think of me wot yew will, but I'm one'a yew now." He glanced at Ana with a nervous look, silently making sure he wasn't stepping over any lines.

Ana brought over cups of tea, nodding as Jamison answered.

"He means it. He's done a great deal of work to put himself into a better place, and be a better person. We all make mistakes and do things that can't be completely erased...but he's a good boy and he's working hard."

She smiled to them both, but there was a strong undernote to her voice. She wanted them both to at least be civil with each other...hopefully more than just civil, but she understood how Reinhardt might see Jamison, and how Jamison might react to such things, and wanted to stop such reactions before they could happen.

Reinhardt looked back and forth between the two before eventually sighing. "Alright then, I suppose I believe you. Welcome to the team Jameson." He said, ruffling the theives hair. "Just don't go turning around on us again." The german chuckled, sitting down next to his wife. "I wonder what Amari would think of her new adopted brother." He mused, hoping his daughter was safe wherever she was. "I also wonder how the others are adjusting to this place..."

Junkrat turned a kind gaze to Ana when she returned with tea, looking a bit more proud than he'd care to admit when she praised him like that, "thanks, mum..." He honestly had never realized that he was slipping consistently to call her that, it had been a subconscious thing up until Reinhardt mentioned it, but it was natural as breathing now, and he really didn't think there was any harm, "I can't change me past, but I kin make me future...Thas' wot I'm 'opin' t'do here."

He shot the man a pleased grin, nodding enthusiastically, "Ha! No worries there, mate! I ain't fer that life anymore." He was a bit caught off guard hearing him call him their daughter's adopted brother, but his eyes shined a little bit at the statement. When he brought up how people were adjusting, he chuckled and slid into the seat across from the two, "I had t'leave be'ind all my kit and caboodle...Jack's been good about that. He grinned, "me new workshop is just as big at least...I like it here more." He pointed up, "bein' underground makes me feel safe. Reminds me of th'bunkers back 'ome..." He mused, resting his cheek in his hand, "yew were always safe if yew could find a couple of 'em to 'ide in, jus' about everyone 'ad one. It's better t'be underground." He nodded surely, he certainly felt more secure and safe.

She continued to smile at the two, but felt her heart ache at the mention of her daughter, despite everything that was happening, she still wished she was here with them, that she could see her and talk to her. And despite Reinhardt's protests that he didn't want her involved, she wondered if he missed her in the same way, even though the relationship between them wasn't publicly known. She looked to Jamison and wondered for just a moment if some part of her treatment towards him was trying to fill that gap a little bit.

She sighed quietly into her cup of tea, listening to him talk about his workshop and how he liked being underground. "I'm glad you've found another space to do your work. And I agree, there is a certain level of security being underground that you don't otherwise have."

Reinhardt nodded. "I've done a lot of good work with the armory. It'll be great once everyone's sort of settled in and added to it." He looked at his wife and saw her subtle expression change at the mention of Fareeha. "So, Jameson..." Reinhardt said, changing the topic quickly. "What exactly do you plan to make in that workshop of yours? I seem to recall hearing you had a pension for explosives." The German said to the younger man. "Planning to blow some things up on us? Maybe being underground might not be a good idea if that's the case..."
