At the end of a long, hot summer the dead began coming back to attack the living.
Everyone is infected. Everyone who dies comes back.
- Hamilton Cabins was a family getaway location a few hours drive from Austin. They offered horse back riding, archery classes, and authentic camping experiences. Now the biggest perk is the walls they were able to erect in the months following the outbreak. They're a peaceful settlement who rely on farming and their livestock more than supply runs to keep their people fed.
Barter Town was once a college in New Mexico and is now the trade hub of the Southwest. They keep track of other settlements through their CB radios and try to keep everyone's location a secret. This is a shadier settlement. Thieves get fed to the walker pits and gladiators fight the dead for the entertainment of the town and traveling visitors. They had trouble with visitors once upon a time, but now the community is a sharpened knife with no tolerance for those who try to take what's not theirs.
Fort Bliss was a military base and it's been taken over by mercenaries posing as soldiers, cutting out their own little kingdom of depravity. Their soil makes it difficult to grow food so they do lots of supply runs and sometimes destroy other settlements. They keep their activities on the low and use Barter Town to find other places to raid. They're vicious and the people they let live are more like slaves than citizens of the community.
The Solo Survivors might have it right, staying off everyone's radar and to themselves as best they can although they can frequent Barter Town and establish a relationship with the traders.
Dead on Arrival is an end of the world RPG set in The Walking Dead universe, but the events on the site take place in a different part of the country with no canons currently present. The site is focused in the Southwestern United States, mostly Texas and New Mexico for now with three major settlements as well as making it on their own as solo survivors for players to chose from.
