When I fail...
Carry what is left of my body
To the place where I began.

Hand me to the ones who held me first,
Show them the shattered remnant.
Tell them I lived well.

While my moments ran out,
I succeeded, I gave everything.
Tell them how I won.

Leave my memories full of good,
Never tell a sad story.
The great out weighs the bad.

Tell them the names I went by
Tell them the people I knew
Tell them I had company.

Those friends I leave behind,
Apologize to them.
They were incredible.

Every moment I want you to recite,
Especially the ones we spent together,
Because those were the greatest.

When I'm eased into the ground,
Let no one disturb the weeds.
Life is the only thing left I can give.

Be kind.
Be strong.
Be good.

When I fail, don't take my place,
Be better than me.
Be more than I could be.

When I fail, deliver me to the earth,
Cry every tear then.
Let that be the last.

Because if I fail, you must succeed.
Because if I fail, you must win.
Because if I fail, you have to try.

As when I fail,
I have to leave you behind.
But I want you to forge ahead.

Because you are kind.
You are strong.
You are good.

When I fail,
I know you won't.
That is all that matters.
