Corn fields always woke something in the old Soldier, he could see himself in them, home and playing stupid keep away games with his siblings. Put him at ease. He knew the farm, knew the wind and the earth, they were just a part of him. He sighed. He felt so removed from it these days, on the run. Being Rooted would have been so much nicer. He couldn't give up it was impossible now. He had a job to do. Jack scratched the back of his head, waiting for McCree to join him.
He just wanted to take a walk, forget a while. Things were getting worse, one of their biggest weapons was frankly useless now, their team was demoralized. They couldn't manage to win. They were losing people. Maybe it was time to hang up their hats. There was so much more for them than being stuck in this loop. Underground bunch of has-beens, fighting against a well funded, well stocked enemy they could barely track let alone stop. Their only saving grace was the back up plan they had in the works to cripple Talon.
It was a last ditch effort.
Jack was feeling less confident in his ability to lead, and his determination faltered now. Had this been the right decision?
