Life as We Now Know It [Various]

He'd been a monster before the world went haywire, this new lawless society just gave him more incentive and less consequences for being one. Sasha had settled into this world with all the grace and poise that he settled into civilian life with before it happened. His name was in the news often without ever actually being in the news, a disappearance here, a body, or bits of one, turned up there, all without a trace. He had to be careful and calculated with what he did before, but now, he felt less obliged to clean up after himself.

And he'd fallen into a rather nice seat within a settlement not too far from here. It was a place people didn't seek out, but they ended up there by accident, and once they were there leaving was not an option. They did trade and allowed route runners through, of course, but the average joes that were unlucky enough to stay there didn't have the luxury of leaving.

Sasha was one of the few people who dealt with disobedience, and despite the searing heat the well dressed man had led a small group into the middle of the city to dispose of them. They'd proven themselves useless and untrustworthy, and he was tasked with making sure they regretted such actions.

He chuckled as he strolled out into the sun, a hunting rifle held loosely in his hand, "here is how it is going to vork." He lifted the rifle, taking aim with a grin, "you vrun, I shoot, make it far enough? You go." He chuckled, "I give five second head start." He kept his sight trained on them as he began to count down.

Sam had been just about to call it a day up here, when new, rapid movement below brought him back to the edge of the roof, lifting the binoculars again. The well-dressed man stood out like crazy, not just for his clothes but that easy confidence wasn't something everyone just carried about these days. People were guarded. People were afraid. This man was neither. His attention flickered next over the goon squad he'd brought with him, none as well dressed, not as causal in their approach. It didn't take much to figure out this man was somehow a person of note in this area.

He nearly dismissed it as scavenger on scavenger violence, these people cutting into his turf, stealing from him, who knew. Sam didn't care for it, but it was the way of the world now, and he wasn't about to going head-long into every scuffle to try and be a hero. A man didn't live long doing that. But it was the reaction of the town's people that held him. These weren't people who looked prepared for a fight, or who lived a hard life themselves. They looked terrified of this man, and the threat he carried with him. Sam had heard stories of people disappearing down here, some people he'd even known personally had never come back. It was a good bet Mr. Well-Dressed down there knew something...or knew someone who did. But Sam also knew he couldn't just walk down there and start a conversation either...he needed to give himself the advantage first.

He set aside the binoculars, and lifted his rifle, eyeing the man through his scope. Not a killing blow, just a crippling one. Just enough to keep him from bolting, just enough to show he wasn't untouchable here. He aimed for the leg and squeezed off the shot. Just as quickly he swept around and aimed for the head of one of the thugs...a lot of things could happen here, the man could be spirited away by his allies. The men might all scatter, the villagers might sense the tides had turned and turn on their threateners...or they might in turn just start mowing down people in the village. Sam had no idea what would happen next...hopefully this choice would not blow up in his face.

"Tree, dvah, ah-deen..." Sasha was about to start pulling the trigger when a gunshot rang out from somewhere above and a searing pain exploded in his leg, "b`lyad'! `tchyo za ga`lima?!" His eyes stretched in shock even as he was going down when he saw one of the men that had accompanied him go down with a perfect hole between his eyes, "Shit! SHIT!" He turned from where he was to see that the rest of the cowardly lot of thugs had scattered, as well as the civilians, sensing the opportunity to escape and taking it.

He clenched his teeth as he gripped his leg and hissed, glancing around with wild eyes as he tried to pin point where the bullet had come from, "Who is zhere?!" He was finding it difficult to concentrate on his surroundings with the pain shooting through his leg, but glared up towards the buildings anyway, "You come down here! Coward!" He was clearly pissed, hot fury burning in his steely blue eyes.

That had actually worked out better than he could have hoped for, apparently no one here held any loyalty to the well-dressed one.

It was a bit of a walk from where Sam had been watching, down to the square where the man had been threatening people, it was too damn hot to run but he made his way there quickly, as he drew closer he followed the sound of the man's yelling and cursing. As he came into view he slowed to a near saunter, still keeping eyes around but otherwise acting like a man fully in charge of the situation.

"Stop shouting. No one else is coming for you. Not so big now, without a bunch of kids to terrorize, and thugs backing you up, huh?" He called out as he came closer, he'd slung the rifle in exchange for an easier to handle hand-gun, keeping it pointed at the bleeding man. "That's right. Hands where I can see 'em." He came close enough to kick the other's dropped weapon out of his immediate reach.

"Who ya work for?" He asked, gun still pointed in the general area of the down'd man's chest.

His eyes burned as they trained on the man that approached him, clearly the one who'd taken the shot. Sasha was out of his element, vulnerable, he hated it, and the anger in his eyes reflected this, "Kids?! They vore all older than me!" He laughed through his pained hisses, sitting up, "I am not afraid of you, piz`da!" He spat, "zhey vore traitors! This is none of your concern!" He was agitated, both at being outsmarted and at losing his prey, he prayed Black and Crowley didn't find out about this.

At the question, he smirked and glanced up at the man, "Ah vouldn't you like to know?! Vell I am not telling!" He glared up at him, "How do you know I vork for anyone?! Maybe I am just mad!" He glanced away stubbornly, clearly refusing to be of any help.
