Jamison was several years too young to be here, but he'd been optimistic and a bright prospect, with a remarkably convincing ID, and given the time and the sheer amount of people coming through, the 16 year old Australian had no trouble being let through.
He was a scrappy young teen, with a mouth that often outran him and got him into trouble with the men he was meant to answer to, he was cocky and foolhardy, and it was an admirable amount of spunk if he could only manage to reign it in and be molded into a soldier. But he was still too young, too young to be here becoming a soldier. There were a few who suspected as much, but without any solid proof there wasn't much that could be done about Jamison's presence in the army.
He grumbled as he sat on the edge of his bed, eyeing his face in a small mirror as he dabbed a wet cloth against his busted lip, which was black and blue and swollen. He supposed he deserved it, mouthing off always got him into this predicament, but he still had a satisfied smirk on his face, as he always got a thrill out of riling people up enough to get them to hit him.
