The Still Heart [Mist]

Reinhardt stepped out of the base and breathed deeply, enjoying the fresh air. He'd been in the armory working on improving Balderich's armor. Ana had told him he needed to get out and he was finally listening to her. He was bundled in a massive coat that made him look even bigger than normal with how puffy it was. "Oh?" He said, noticing their resident Omnic floating on his own. "Hullo!" He hollered as he approached the monk. "What is it you're doing out here friend? Don't Omnic get cold too?" He asked, standing next to Zenyatta and looking off in the same direction, wondering what it was he was looking at.

Zenyatta raised his head to find Reinhardt walking towards him, what an incredibly large man he was. The coat only made him look larger, it was quite intimidating, with the scar. Though Zen could hardly find the German scary, regardless of his calm, Reinhardt was so gentle and boisterously pleased. "Greetings, and I am well used to the cold, even if omnics could get cold. Luckily I have this," he spoke as he showed the scarf around his neck. "Perhaps it is not as warm as your coat, but then I do not really need it, it was a gift." He floated further down the bench to allow the german to sit if he wished.

"Curious, is it not? How the snow falls, it always ends up in a wonderfully smooth pile. Soothing."

Reinhardt watched the Omnic show off his scarf with pride and couldn't help let out a laugh. "I'm sorry my enlightened friend...you are simply humorous with your scarf." He said, noticing the offer and sitting down next to Zenyatta, causing the bench to creak and tip a bit with his weight. He nodded at the monk's remark about the snow. "I never thought about it like that... Although, when Fareeha was a little and Ana brought her to bases stationed where it snowed, her and I would often catch snow flakes on our tongues." He said, sticking his tongue out and catching some flakes to prove his point, letting out a chuckle. "Ah, but that was a long time ago and the world is a very different place." The crusader said, letting out a sigh. "What about you friend? Does time get to Omnics like it gets to humans?"

Zenyatta reached out a hand and let some snowflakes settle on his palm, thoughtfully observing them, the metal was cold and they did not melt away. He supposed he'd never know what a snowflake tasted like, tongues seemed like fascinating things. "It is rather amusing, an omnic in a scarf," he seemed to agree with the sentiment. There was a pause as he considered his next thought, does time get to him? He supposed he wouldn't know, as he was in many ways younger than all of them, yet he did feel...older? He supposed that was simply an illusion, brought on by his study of the Iris and the teachings of the Shimbali. "Time is not so different, from person to person, but I find it turns slowly. Moments are not so fleeting if you give them their proper time to pass." He supposed that made sense. "I do not know what the future holds, so I do not dwell upon it, I believe it makes the moments feel less urgent."

Reinhardt nodded and smiled. "I suppose you are right." He flipped the hood of his coat back, letting flakes start to land on his head. "It is a bit trickier for humans though. We just seem so much more fragile." He said, a brief shudder ran through him as images of the battle for Eichenwalde flashed through his head. With much death there was so quickly, it made him scared, to think of how easily that could be him someday. "How do you do it friend. How do you find a way to just not dwell on things, could you perhaps teach me?"

Zenyatta gave a small laugh. "Fragile, perhaps in the body, but your minds and your spirits are as iron as my body," he pointed out while settling his hands upon his knees, odd orbs settling into somethingm ore of a necklace. "It is not something taught, but it is something learned." That wasn't very helpful but he seemed willing to explain it as he went on. "I might explain to you how I let myself move forward without holding the chains of the past, but it would never be the same for you. We each must find our center in our own way." He thought of an example.

"For me the past is a stone in a river, it may seem impassible to the small craft that I am, but when I expand my sights I see it has many paths around, and rather than wonder how to move the boulder I might instead move around it; accepting that it exists and it will always remain. I have not changed the rock, I have changed my approach to the rock." That seemed to make sense to him. "Rather than wonder on what the past might have been, and what you could change. Approach the rock with what you have done, and find a way around it instead."
