Driving my life away [Jamie]

Jamison made it a point to stop at truck stops whenever they cropped up in his travels, it was the easiest place to find safe rides, as truckers tended to be a trustworthy group, not to mention most of these places offered plenty of food and other supplies for him to stock up on.

However, the truck stop that he'd spent the last three days at was probably the biggest one he'd ever seen. He'd been dumbfounded when he first saw the place, and no one had seemed to mind when he decided to hide out and sleep in the lounge area that was upstairs, or they didn't notice, either way it had been a welcome change from what he was used to, of course he knew he couldn't stay here too long, so now he was scouting out the truckers, finding one intending to leave soon as possible to take him wherever they might be heading.

His interest perked when he spotted the woman at the checkout, she looked to be getting ready to pay for her items, and he was quick to grab his backpack, freshly stocked with things he'd bought for the road, and caught up with her on the way out, hugging the coat that Ian had given him to himself against the chill.

"Oi! Miss!" He waved to the woman as he caught up to her, "yew headin' out?" He looked up at her with a hopeful grin," got room fer another?" He waved his hand vaguely, "I kin pay yeh, jus' need a ride t'well...T'wherever yer goin'!" He laughed, patting his backpack to indicate his intentions, "doesn't matter t'me where yer headin'...Jus' so long as it ain't 'ere!" He held out a hand, "name's Jamison!" He looked behind him, "can yew believe this place? I stayed 'ere three days an' no one fuckin' noticed! Crazy!" He was still following her as he babbled, trying to break the ice with her.

At the shouting behind her Havoc paused and looked around, cigarette already smoldering in the corner of her mouth. She needed to get her 'pre-getting-on-the-road' smoke out of the way.

Realizing he was talking to her she blinked at him, sizing the newcomer up. Being approached by hitchhikers wasn't a new or rare thing, she'd gotten pretty good at picking out who she would or wouldn't want in the cab of her truck. And seeing how she was owner-operator now, instead of running with someone else's trucks, she could do things like pick up people and no one would give a shit.

At his words she suddenly burst out laughing. "Hell, I imagine you could practically move into this fuckin' place and no one would figure it out for some time. I love this fuckin' place, I stop whenever I'm around."

She shifted her bag of groceries to the other hand. "So Jamison. How do you feel about Montana?" She asked as she started to walk back out towards the truck parking lot, gesturing for him to follow her if he wanted to. "Kinda cold this time of year, but pretty. If you're into that kinda thing."

She walked down the row of trucks until she came to a black gleaming truck accented with chrome and a flash of lights as she clicked the key fob. On the doors in white and silver letters that seemed to have been stolen from an '80's action flick was written "Cry Havoc" and "transportation" underneath in smaller letters. In between the two lines of text was a stylized snarling wolf head that trailed back into flames in red, orange and yellow shades.

"I'm Havoc." She grinned, pointing to the door, obviously proud of her truck and aesthetic choices for it. "Other side's open, climb on up!" She said as she jumped up in the driver's seat. Inside was black leather and what seemed to be the most modern and high tech gadgets in the cab, the sleeper bed outfitted comfortably for someone who more or less lived there. As she put in the key there was a rainbow of various colored lights along the floor and dash, before settling into lower lighting for driving by.

Jamison looked back at the place and nodded, laughing, "right? I'd of stayed longer but...Wanderlust." He always got that itch eventually when he stayed in one place too long, whether it was a need to travel, or his subconscious fear of being caught by cops who wouldn't care about his story or who he was, he wasn't sure, but he did know the urge always returned, "can never stay in one place too long..." He followed after he when she started walking again.

"Montana, eh? Y'know I don't think I been there yet!" At least he couldn't remember being there in all his travels, "cold don't bother me!" He tugged at his coat, "this nice guy an' his boyfriend gave me this coat..." He remembered that pair, he'd been slightly jealous of them, living happily together in a cozy home. He shook the thought away and looked back up in time for his eyes to widen considerably at the sight of her ride, "Hooley dooley..."

He whistled appreciatively, chuckling, "this thing's beautiful. He took a moment to admire it before climbing into the passenger seat, glancing over the lights when she turned it on, "damn. You kit this thing out yerself? Nicest truck I've been in!" He already liked this woman's style.
