It was a pleasant fall day, and Ian meant to enjoy all of them that were left before winter set in and buried them all under ice and snow. He was feeling better about pretty much everything in his life lately too...he couldn't remember the last time that had happened...but...it was a nice feeling. And it showed in his face and manner too, he didn't look as harried and exhausted, a bit more life in his eyes then usual. Everything wasn't perfect, and he still absolutely had his moments, his demons...but he still felt better than he had in years. Harley was certainly helping with that, endlessly patient and kind and boundlessly enthusiastic about everything. It was hard to not have it rub off, at least a little bit.
He was just circling back from a walk through the fields, hands in the pockets of his coat, half smoldering cigarette in the corner of his mouth. He could go back inside, he could get back to work...but...there was nothing that pressing inside to deal with, no one was seriously sick or injured right now and most of his efforts were on his pet projects. They could all wait for a little while.
He settled down on a concrete curb near the makeshift parking lot, shifting to rest his elbows on his knees as he tilted his face up into the sun and smiled a bit to himself. This was nice. He could get used to this.
