Why are you Baking at 4 in the Morning?

Grayson nodded and swallowed hard, looking a little less overwhelmed now that the mess all over the counters was cleaned up, "I know, it's hard to convince myself of that...But I want to be your boyfriend." He looked over at them, "I don't want to be some violent brute...That's not me..." He looked over his hands, "or I thought it wasn't..." He frowned, not entirely sure anymore.

He looked at them for a long time, just taking in their words, and their face, everything, before he gave a calm nod and looked up at him, "I promise, Skylar. I promise I'll try for you." He came closer and took their hands, "you can trust me. A-and I'll trust you to tell me if you really need me to protect you." He smiled a little himself, letting out a soft sigh, "I'll just be here to remind you why they're dead fucking wrong when they say those things." He hesitated a moment before pulling them into a close hug.

When he pulled away, he glanced over at the mess of cupcakes with a laugh, "yeah...Aren't they?" He sighed, "I guess I was scared of the thoughts I was having in my head...So I just...Did this..." He ran a hand through his hair," not the first time over the last couple of weeks..." He pursed his lips and cleared his throat, "certainly the first time I've wound up in the floor with frosting in my eyes sobbing hysterically..." He chuckled, "embarrassing...I don't think Wolfe wants me here right now..."

He rubbed at his eyes, "I haven't slept since Monday..." He looked over at them, "you don't have to stay but like...It's so late...We could...Curl up?" He was kind of lost right now, in the wake of such a mental snap, what was he supposed to do?

They smiled as they let themselves be pulled into the tight hug, wrapping their arms around him at the same time, head resting against his chest. "That's all I want...just remind me *you* still like me, and to tell with what the rest of them thing...that's what I need most from you."

They hoped this wasn't the start of a pattern, continued behavior, because they really couldn't keep doing this...they couldn't watch this man just ruin himself like this. They hoped it got better. But for today they were willing to believe it when he said it was.

At the mention of Wolfe they looked around, for the first time realizing the other man wasn't around. "Yeah, I think maybe he split...from the sounds of him on the phone you freaked him out a little bit...kinda freaked me out a little bit too when I walked in to see that..." They admitted. "I was worried about you..."

They yawned suddenly, seeming to realize how late it was. "I was kinda woken up out of a dead sleep." They admitted. "I wouldn't mind going back to bed for a while...and sounds like you need it more than I do..." They said, taking his hand and giving him a little bit of a tug towards his bedroom.

He was glad to hold them close again, it felt like it had been such a long time since he'd just gotten to hold them close against his chest like this, "then I can do that for you, Skylar. I can do that." He kissed their forehead, "because I love you. I love you so much."

He glanced around with a guilty expression, chewing at his lip, "sorry...I...Kind of scared myself too." He'd never in his life gotten that bad, sunk to that point, he shook his head, "I'll apologize to him when I see him again..." He frowned briefly and looked worried, "only hope he doesn't evict me or something..." Not that he would blame him, he'd acted like a crazy person, it was the one thing he'd promised moving in, that he wasn't crazy.

Grayson yawned wide himself and nodded, looking apologetic, "I'm sorry Skylar...I-I didn't intend for him to call you..." He followed them towards the bedroom and was eager to slip into bed, eager to scoop them up and pull them close, "I'm glad you're here just...Sorry for dragging you into my mess..." He gave them a gentle, sheepish smile, "I'm glad you still want to date me..."
