Grayson couldn't help the emotional lump in his throat when he felt them smile against his own lips, a million thoughts running through his head, there were times when he was younger that he didn't even think he'd let himself life long enough to experience a feeling like this, and when Skylar pulled away enough to speak, Grayson couldn't help the tears tugging at the corners of his eyes, "Hope so..." His voice shook a little, slightly rough from his emotions, he was happy, excited, terrified, it was wonderful.

He took both their cheeks and pulled them into another kiss, leaning back against the couch as he did before finally letting go, "I don't know what you see in me...But I'm glad you see it." He said this honestly, running a gentle hand over their cheek, "a-and I hope you keep seeing it..." He couldn't help the emotional tremble in his voice as he swallowed a hard lump, letting tears roll down his cheeks and hiding his face, "j-jesus..." He laughed softly, "I'm such a fuckin' mess..."

Skylar was happy to let the kiss linger for as long as it would, enjoying the moment and the feeling that came with it, before letting out a contented sigh and half curling up against his chest, smiling at the feeling. They'd curled up together plenty of times, but this time felt different, with the admission of their feelings, and the start of the shift in what their relationship was.

Hearing the tremor in their voice they propped themselves up a little to look at him. "Hey...hey." They said gently, reaching up with one hand to gently pull at his hands to take them away from his face if he'd let them. "It's okay....don't do that...don't hide." They smiled. "You're not a mess. And...you know what, someday...I hope you can see you how I see you. It'd blow your mind." Their tone stayed gentle and affectionate, watching his face.

Grayson draped an arm over them to pull them closer when they curled up, they were so warm, in so many ways, and it was a little bit crazy to think that they wanted to be his, but the feeling was overwhelming and he couldn't stop the tears that were coming now even if he wanted to. It wasn't awkward or awful this time, like it had been the other times, it was just a build up of feelings that needed to get out and he couldn't help the sound he made between a laugh and a sob.

He let Skylar pull away his hand when they did, eyes shining with the heavy tears running down his face, "it's just..." He paused to collect himself, then sniffled, "I grew up convinced I wouldn't live long enough to have this...A-and then..." Another pause, "and then I convinced myself I didn't deserve it...But now you're here...A-and I just...Love you...So much..." He laughed softly, "and you don't think I'm fucking crazy for this shit..I just..." He paused, then looked down, "Skylar...H-how do you see me...How do you really see me..." He looked up at them with an honest, pleading look in his eyes, not fishing for any praise, just a genuine question about something that he just couldn't understand, and wanted to.

Skylar nodded seriously. "All the more reason to just...let yourself feel these things. And you're gonna have all the good things now. Well...as many as I can help you get..." They laughed quietly, leaning up to lightly kiss his cheek.

At his question, they half sat up to better look at him ,to consider how to answer that question. "Well...you're cute." They said, starting with the obvious. "You really are this smart, driven person. I mean, you decide you're going to get ahead in this business and you do it. Even with everything else you're dealing with...you *do* it. I mean, I have to respect that...so much. You're a survivor, Gray. And a fighter. You're one of the bravest people I've ever met...everything you grew up with...everything you've lived through, that you still live through. But you didn't let it just crumble you. No matter how much you think you're broken beyond repair..."

They tilted their head, studying him for another long moment. "You're sad...and you carry so much around with you...and it hurts you adn weighs you down...you can see that on your face, in your eyes...but under that you're a good person. And you care about stuff, and people. You're damaged, you're hurt...but you're so far from broken beyond all repair..."
