The Feel Again [Jess]

Mido wished he could tell her the full extent of how wrong she was, but instead he just stuck his tongue out at her, "I will. And I'll keep telling you that too." He said stubbornly, crossing his arms firmly on the subject.

He laughed and shook his head, "well it looks better than what I had going on!" He couldn't help but duck his head bashfully at the compliment, chuckling softly, "Uh...W-well thank you!" It put butterflies in his stomach being complimented by her anytime it happened, he cleared his throat and started stepping around her, taking her in with a thoughtful eye as he pondered her challenge.

"Hm okay." He motioned for her to sit, "black eyeliner, but I wanna try something. Close your eyes." He smirked, then turned to pick out a few colors, "you have such pretty green eyes, and this cute dirty blonde color in your hair, so I think this will look nice not only as a compliment to that, but to what I have going on too." He'd picked out a few darker more subtle blue-greens to gradient her eyeshadow a bit, and a dark but still pupping blue for her lips, finishing the look with her artfully winged black eyeliner.

He looked pleased when he pulled away, nudging her to open her eyes to have a look, "I think this'll compliment you, but it's still dark enough to match your eyeliner...Uh...I hope I did okay..." He blushed and looked to the side, "it ought to compliment a lot of your clothes too!"

"O-kay..." She said slowly, looking a little amused, a little apprehensive when he said he wanted to try something. She sat down and closed her eyes, feeling him applying things to her face, she tried not to fidget too much but she found herself wildly curious what he was doing, and what she'd find when she opened her eyes.

She finally opened her eyes when told she could, and blinked a few times, not sayng anything at first. "Holy shit." She finally said. "Holy shit...I look...all like...glamorous." She sounded almost in awe for a moment, that was certainly a word she'd never used to describe herself, not really something she ever thought was attainable for her.

"See, you're good at this!" She said, maybe a little louder than intended to hide just the hint of a warble in her voice as she looked back at her reflection. "Okay...now I gotta go see if I even own anything that'll look halfway as good as my face looks right now..." She hopped up to head to the bedroom. "Looks so good..>I ain't ever gonna wash my face, it's gonna stay like this forever..." She called back as she rummaged.

Mido's face lit up considerably when she seemed so into what he'd done, "See!" He grinned wide and gestured to her, "All I did was accentuate the nice features you already have." He looked to the side with a slightly bashful expression, "you're beautiful, Jess...And I'll keep telling you that until it sinks in." He smiled at her, watching her head off to pick her clothes, "Ha! Well, I'm glad you approve!" He chuckled to himself, "I guess it's easier to figure colors out on other people than myself." He mused as he began putting up the things they'd used.

"Now that you trust me with your face, maybe I can find some more nice colors for you?" He grinned, "it'd be fun to see what kind of looks we could come up with!" If anything, it would be something kind of silly and fun they could do when they were bored with nothing else to occupy their time with.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." She called back when he called her beautiful, but at the same time she didn't sound unhappy with the compliments. SHe wasn't used to getting many...or thinking of herself as overly attractive...she was just the oddball, fluffy-haired kid in the too-big flannel shirt most of the time it seemed.

"Yeah, that'd be fun!" She agreed, calling back. "You know, watch some tutorial videos or something, practice stuff on each other...I like this idea!"

She came back out, wearing a short black dress, nothing overly fancy but would be appropriate for a night out. "There, think this will work? I don't got a lot of choices, if we're gonna go out more I guess I'll need to go shopping..." She grinned. "We can do some of that together too if you like." She offered.

Mido couldn't help but roll his eyes when she dismissed his compliments, or tried to, but the difference in tone was fairly clear and he was glad that he'd at least sort of gotten a reaction like that from her.

He grinned wide, coming to stand by her door without peeking in, to give her her privacy, "I used to watch a ton!" He tapped his chin, "I know a few good ones that might be fun to try out!" He chuckled softly, "even if we're not going out, I certainly wouldn't mind practicing techniques!" It would be kind of nice, something they could share that was just between them, and any excuse to be able to be close to her was a good reason in his book.

His face lit up when she came out and he nodded, "Yes! I think it's perfect!" He couldn't help but feel a little giddy at the prospect of shopping together, silly as it was, and the offer was thoughtful and left him warmed, "I'd love to go shopping with you!" He grinned, "I've never had anyone to go shopping for this kinda stuff with..." He ran a hand through his hair, "I usually have to bring stuff home to tailor it...Because uh..." He gestured to himself, "they don't really make dresses and skirts for giants!" He laughed, "but that's no big deal! It sounds fun!"

"Yeah, sorry, you're kinda on your own when it comes to tailoring stuff. You know, unless you *want* it to look like it went through a world war *and* the apocalypse." She laughed. "But hey, I'll totally go along and tell you if that color shirt matches your eyes or not...then you can bring it home and make it look like whatever you want!"

She took a moment to lean closer to the mirror, giving herself a satisfied once over before turning back to him. "okay! So...we're all dressed up...and need somewhere to go! Did you have any ideas of a place...or...I dunno, maybe just head downtown and see what looks interesting?"

She really didn't go out all that much, she didn't really have the money to, or the inclination to go out alone either so she really didn't have any places to offer...but going out with him, all done up like this, suddenly made the idea appealing.

Mido laughed and put a hand to his cheek with a thoughtful expression, "well I mean...That is a pretty cool style." He grinned, "maybe we can put together some crazy zombie apocalypse outfits together!" He knew she was kidding, but the idea of sewing together weird outfits was appealing, and sounded about as fun to him as going out clubbing together like this. He supposed it was mostly just spending any time with her more than anything else.

He looked thoughtful as he slipped back into his closet to see if he had any handbags to match, "just going and seeing what looks interesting sounds fun!" He grinned back at her, "not having a plan is the best plan I can think of!" He was never one for fore-planning, he liked living in the moment and seeing where things happened to go, for him just going out and walking around like this was a big enough deal, wherever they ended up he was sure he'd enjoy it.
