"Well, might as well get started. Shave off some of that waiting time." She stood up, looking around at the tiny handful of people in the place.
"Party's over guys. Shuttin' the place down for the rest of the day, get the fuck out." One man started to protest, but she fixed him with a steady gaze, no hint of joking or sarcasm in her words. "Don't start with me Jorge...get the hell out of I fuckin' shoot you." He got up and left. It wasn't that odd for her to close the place down on occasion, or some days just not open, it was the nature of her business. It was the nature of a lot of businesses in the area. So some might grumble at their favorite watering hole being closed, it wouldn't be seen as too odd, or cause for too much protest, honestly.
She took a little time to close the place down, before beckoning for Jamie to join her, walking around back to a rickety set of stairs, then upstairs to the apartment above the bar that seemed like a large studio, small windows kept the place cool in the heat of the day, odds and ends scattered around the place that was fairly tidy but obviously lived in, and had been lived in for a while, personal decorations and some pictures and news clips on the walls, things that had obviously not been moved around in a long time. It was a place that had been well settled into.
"Sit wherever. Eat, drink, watch TV, I don't give a shit. Just...gimme some time to work here." She told Jamie before plopping down at a table with a laptop and getting to work. Over the next few hours she focused on the computer, made a few phone calls, seemed engrossed in her work as the last of the light faded from the day, at one point she flicked on a desk lamp next to her and kept working. "And now we wait..." She finally looked up. "Maybe we'll get lucky. Maybe it'll go quickly."
