Finding Strays [McCree!]

Why was he here? McCree has no idea. All he knows that it's hotter than hell, more hotter than he's used to back home. His cowboy getup ain't working either. McCree is here for some items, making sure everything is just fine and dandy and whatnot. He'll walk along, bag slung over his shoulder as he holds his weapon in his hand. With a low whistling noise, he has learned to be extremely careful here for many reasons, mainly because of the people. Poor them, he can't help but to feel bad. He continued to walk along, panting a bit from the heat until he spots a small little kid, frowning. He'll then look around, noticing no one else but the little one and he can't help but to feel bad.

"Hey, kid," he'll greet, making his way to the heap of scrap metal just to escape the sun too, putting the bag down before sitting down, moving to take off his hat with a sigh. Honestly, he has no idea how the other will react to him suddenly, but might as well give it a shot.

Jamison saw the man approaching before he got close enough to call a greeting, he looked like an outsider, too clean for this place. His eyes were immediately drawn to the weapon, and when he realized that the man was coming closer, too close, he picked up the rusty, dingy old crowbar he used for a weapon and held it up defensively, "Go'way..." He was trying to look tough, but he couldn't hide the fear in his eyes, he was always afraid, you had to be in this place.

After a stretch of silence, his curiosity got the better of him and he crept closer carefully, darting wild eyes over the man. He looked a bit like a cowboy, what a bizarre getup, where had he come from and why was he even in this shitty place? He quirked his head to the side before coming to sit next to him, relaxing his grip on his makeshift weapon, more curious now than afraid.

"Hey now, I won't hurt ya," McCree mumbled, putting his pistol in its holster as he tries to get himself comfortable with a tired sigh. He didn't seem bothered by the crowbar as he looks at the other with a smile. "What's your name, kid?" He asked before going through his bag to take out a small package of snacks and a small water bottle before handing it to the other. "Here, you can have these. I got plenty." McCree then smiled as he turns his gaze elsewhere for a moment, covering his mouth to let out a yawn. Damn, he hasn't been here long and the heat already wore him down. Though he'll keep his gaze on little Jamison there, and then looking around again. By the looks of it, the kid is alone and that made him worry. "You alone out here?"

Jamison relaxed visibly when he finally put the gun away, he'd had far to many bad run ins with people wielding guns to feel any kind of safe or secure around someone holding one. He scooted a bit closer once the weapon was put away, his eyes growing huge when he pulled out food and water, was this for real? Surely not. People didn't just give away food and water out here. He gave the man a slightly suspicious glance as he took both, "Catch?" There had to be a catch, there was always a catch. Then again, his stomach growled and he glanced at the offerings before twisting open the water bottle and downing it with a desperate fervor, going to the snacks after, "Jamison...My name is Jamison..." He hated how rough his voice sounded, low and painful, thirst had done a number on him. When he asked if he was alone he looked to the side and nodded, "Mmhm. Alone."

Poor kid. McCree didn't mind those suspicious look he's getting from Jamison, honestly he doesn't blame him because of where they're at. At the question if there's a catch to his offering, McCree chuckled before shaking his head. "No catch, kid," he replied as he leans against the pile of metal, eyes looking around just in case they are actually alone before attempting to relax more. This place is intense, so far and that's just the heat. "Nice to meet ya, Jamison. I'm McCree but you can call me Jesse," he said, looking down at the other with another grin. "That ain't good, but I'll stick by you. How does that sound? Maybe get you out of here too." He knows Gabriel would throw a fit about McCree bring a kid back but.

Jamison felt relaxed when the man assured him that there was no catch to this, "s'odd. Everythin' has a catch..." His voice was growly and low as he watched the man, still on edge despite his relaxed demeanor. He looked over his face as he inched a bit closer, crouched and moving more like a small animal than a human boy, "Jesse. You look silly." He tilted his head to the side, his eyes widening again when the man made mention of getting him out of there, suddenly coming close and taking his hand, "Please..." He looked up at him with a desperate expression, "Please take me from 'ere..."

Jesse frowned a bit, poor kid. Well, he'll nod as he holds onto Jamie's hand before laughing softly at the comment. "I do look weird huh? Was thinking of shaving a bit but.. it completes the look." Jesse used his free hand to take off the hat from his head to put it on the kid. "Don't you think?" Jesse then sighed before chuckling again. "Don't worry, you're coming with me, alright? I'll make room for you and everything, no big deal." At that, McCree talked into a walkie-talkie to request an extraction, including that he found a little someone that needs to be taken out of here. "Alright, they'll meet us here in a couple of minutes. I bet you're excited, huh?"

Jamison squinted an eye and tilted his head, nodding when he mentioned shaving, "cowboy." He flinched back slightly when the man motioned to put his hat on him, but gave a tiny smile after a moment, "yeh..Yew look funny!" He chuckled, then looked eager when he said he'd take him with him, "Yes!" He was excited now, he was going to be leaving? Sure if could be a trap, and the idea of being around people was petrifying, but anything was better than dying out here. He grunted as he used his makeshift crutch to heave himself to a standing position, waiting eagerly now for whoever was coming to fetch them. He pressed close to Jesse's side after a moment, looking up at him with a thankful expression.

"That's what I'm going for, kiddo," Jesse replied before chuckling lightly, putting his hat back on his head. He just can't help but laugh more as he watches little Jamie get onto his feet, getting up as well. "Glad you think so. I'll try and be the same all the time so you can laugh," he said with that same smile, glancing up as the helicopter lands down not too far from them. "Look our ride is here. Hope you don't mind heights. Oh! There's someone back home that you'll probably like. He's a year older than you, maybe. He's really shy and speaks a bit of English, he's learning though," he continued as he puts his hand on Jamie's shoulder as he slowly leads him to the helicopter.

As the doors opened, Gabriel will be the first there, arms crossed over his chest as he glances at Jamie. "Ugh, Jesse. Come on, let's get him back and settled." Gabriel had given up already, especially when he first brought Lucio back. Jesse really has a soft spot for kids who are going through a lot, but then again, so does Gabriel. He shouldn't allow Jesse to do all this but oh well. Jamie will be taken care of.

Jamison felt himself relaxing considerably around the man as he laughed and joked, he was a stark contrast to the nightmare and terror of this place, and he couldn't help but to smile a little bit more as well as he listened to him, "Mm...Thank yew." He pressed closer to his side when the loud helicopter touched down, his eyes wide with a mix of fear and intrigue, but his attention was drawn when the man mentioned another kid his age, "a friend?" He smiled a weak smile as he leaned on his crutch to follow Jesse to the helicopter, going quieter as he had to concentrate on keeping himself steady on one leg as they went.

He gasped and ducked back behind Jesse when the other man stepped out, looking up at him with a nervous expression, "h-h'lo..." He kept himself hiding by Jesse as they boarded the Helicopter, looking somewhere between nervous and panicky at the prospect of heights and going up in the air.

"You're welcome," Jesse replied softly, helping Jamie onto the helicopter before giving Gabriel a smile. "That's Commander Reyes, Gabriel. He may look scary but he's actually pretty cool." Gabriel huffed at that, letting the two enter the helicopter before motioning for them to close the doors and to take off. "Yeah, a friend. His name is Lucio, had a rough time too. You two have a lot in common," Jesse continued as he gently helps Jamie to a chair, motioning for the kid to stay close. Gabriel then moved to sit on the other side of Jamie, sighing as he glances at the kid with a slight grin. "Hello," he'll greet softly as he relaxes against the chair with a sigh.

Jamison scratched at his ratty hair as he was led into the helicopter, glancing up at Reyes with a less nervous expression once Jesse introduced him, "Gabe..." He mumbled, it was much easier to say than the mouthful that Jesse had said, but his attention was turned back to the cowboy when he talked about the kid, who's name was apparently Lucio, "Mm...He nice?" He figured he was, the man had said he was shy, and since when was a shy person ever anything but nice? He hoped he wasn't too scared of him. He looked relieved when he was helped into a chair, glad to be off his only good leg for a little while as they traveled. He looked up at Gabriel and gave him a small smile now, waving, "hullo. Uh...My name's Jamison..."

Gabriel only smiled as he gently puts his hand on Jamie's shoulder before chuckling. "Nice to meet you, Jamison. I promise you'll be safe with us," he said softly before turning his gaze elsewhere as Jesse puts his attention back on the kid. "Very. He's a big sweetheart, tries to give everyone a little flower every day. He's like an literal angel, you'll love him," Jesse replied with a small chuckle before shifting a bit to get comfortable.

The helicopter landed on the pad, blades slowing down as Gabriel moved to get off first, greeting a few people along the way before turning to face the helicopter. Everyone seemed interested to see who Jesse brought, especially Lucio. Lucio moved to hide behind Gabriel's leg, peeking out to see what's going on before smiling at the touch to his head. Jesse then waved at the group, getting off before turning to hold his hands out for Jamison to help him off. "Come on, they're all nice. They won't hurt you, not while I'm alive."
