Jamison laughed and shook his head, "don't surprise me." He rubbed a hand over his face and chuckled, "I prob'ly ain't th'nicect thing t'look at..." It wasn't like he had anyone to impress out here with good looks, survival trumped personal appearances most of the time. He shrugged and eyed him, "fakin' it wont do yew no good, is all I'm sayin'...I uh...Look." He stood and looked thoughtful, frowning, "I need t'know how yer feelin' if yer gonna stay here, so I can help..." He closed his eyes, "I wont let this place break yew like it broke me. Don't worry." He tried to give his a reassuring grin, but thought better of it and frowned, he had a pretty terrible smile anyway.

He looked up upon Lucio's words and laughed, holding his gut, "HA! Well would yew rather I start doin' a good job?" He breathed and shook his head, "I guess you ain't technically a hostage...But I know yew prob'ly feel pretty trapped." He wasn't about to ask this man to do anything for him when he was essentially trapped here. He stood and shrugged, going to lift the hatch to listen, "rain's stopped anyway. I'd be alright." He gave him a reassuring smile, then tilted his head, "hungry? I think I got th'kit t'make a stir fry?" Granted most of the ingredients would come from those preserved army rations, but if you knew what you were going you could make them taste pretty good.

"No, no. You're fine," Lucio said as he continues to watch the other man closely. He can't help but to be careful now. Why is he being so nice to him? He'll tilt his head at that before letting out a sigh. "I'm scared," he'll start, "scared, tired and.. that's it. Scared that I landed here and that I'm stuck, but that's it. You don't scare me anymore, well.. just as long as you don't have a weapon pointed at me. That's just it," Lucio finished as he glances off to the side. "I'm also surprised that you're still being nice about this whole thing."

Lucio laughed quietly before shaking his head. "You're fine just like this, alright? Won't do us any good if you actually tried anything like that." It's true. No word will get out and it'll be wasted energy. "Trapped is a good word for it, but I'll get over it. Just need time to acknowledge the fact that I'm stuck here, that's all. "Don't leave, please? You're the only friend I have now and I don't want anyone to kill you or something." At the question, he'll nod as he looks over at Jamison again. "I.. don't know how to cook that well, yet anyway so would you mind making some?"

Jamison looked over at him when he said he was scared, moving to sit close to him again, "want t'know a secret?" He sighed and ran a hand over his face, "I've lived out 'ere 25 years an' I'm still scared of this place." He looked over at him with his best attempt at a crooked grin, "it ain't gonna sound very reassuring but...That fear will save yer life." He stood again as he went to gather up what he would need for dinner, "if yer afraid, yer alert. Yer senses are stretched t'their limits. Yew wont be caught off guard. Fear is a good thing, if yew learn how t'use it." He blinked at his comment and laughed, shaking his head, "there's enough evil in this shit'ole. Might as well do some good fer a change."

He chuckled and nodded, looking over at him, "then I'll keep being a shit captor, eh?" He turned away again as he busied himself with preparing their meal, lighting the fire on the small stove he'd rigged up. Trapped. He had to stifle a bitter laugh, "yeh? Jus' wait till yer stuck here for years...Then ye'll know trapped." He hoped Lucio wasn't here that long, he only wanted company, but eventually he would have to take him back to the city, before this place poisoned him. His eyes widened when he heard Lucio call him a friend, turning to him, "yew consider me a friend?" There was a sort of shaky waver in his voice as he asked, like he had to force himself not to tear up, "I've never 'ad a friend before..."

Aw. Lucio sighed at the response he got before frowning and staying silent. "Yeah, guess you're right about all that. I'm sorry for sounding so weak, it's just.. overwhelming." As Jamie got up, he'll watch him as he gathered the stuff for food, leaning over to grab a small candy bar he brought to nibble on it. "Yeah, there's too much evil all over the place. It's sad, actually. Though if there's good, there's evil and there's nothing to really do about it." A smile. "It's good that you're trying to do good though."

"I guess so. It's good," he'll say with a small tilt of his head to continue watching Jamison cook with a curious expression, eating a bit of the candy bar. "I hope I'm not here for that long, honestly." Lucio sighed as he finishes up the candy, laughing softly at the other's reaction. "Of course. You haven't done anything that would make me think of you any less. Well, I'm glad to be the first."

Jamison nodded and looked down, chuckling softly as he went to work cooking, "Yeh...It can get overwhelming at times." He looked over at him with a smile, "yew don't sound weak, mate, yew sound human." He chuckled softly and turned back to what he was doing, "I'd be more concerned if yew weren't scared an' overwhelmed. Ye'll get th'hang of it." He tapped his chin and looked thoughtful, "I'll teach yew t'get th'hang of it." He shrugged and kept his eyes on what he was doing, "teach yew some survival skills, once yew gotta bit'a that under yer belt yew wont feel so out of yer element." Or he hoped it would help, it was hard to be confident in a place like this when you had no skills at your disposal to deal with it.

He chuckled and looked down, not meeting his eyes so he didn't have to see the sort of sad expression on his face, "yew wont be. Don't worry." Just for a little while, he wouldn't keep this poor guy here so he ended up as broken and fucked up as everyone else. He was just lonely, and kind of enjoying having company for a change. He turned to him and grinned, "I don't plan on it neither, I wont hurt you, I swear." And he'd shoot anyone who tried to.

Lucio curled up a bit where he was sitting, wrapping his arms around his legs as he returns the smile. "I'm glad you can teach me these things. I mean, I know a bit about fighting and weapons but not everything else. Maybe you can teach me what is good or what to avoid. Maybe we could make it fun somehow." He nodded as he tries to make light of the situation. Though it never hurts to learn survival skills, no matter where you're at in the world. It's important anyway.

"And when I leave, you can come with me," he said rather seriously with a nod. If no one lets Jamison come along, he'll have a bone to pick with them. As much as he wants out of here, he also wants Jamison out too so he can see the world. Luckily Jamison found him to begin with since being completely alone scares the poor guy. That made Lucio give Jamie a genuine smile as he laughs softly. "Thanks, man. Means a lot. I'll take care of you too."

Jamison looked over at him and nodded, chuckling, "yeh, I don't doubt a guy loike yew kin fight." He sighed and looked thoughtful as he added finishing touched to their meal, "But this place? I ain't like anywhere yew've been..." His expression became serious as he scooped the hacked together meal into two bowls, "this place kin break th'strongest soldier. But I got yew, so try not t'worry, a'ight?" He gave him a half smile as he came to hold the bowl out to him with a spoon, plopping down close by.

He laughed softly when he mentioned bringing him along again, "Mate...I dunno..." He sighed softly, "people in th'cities...They ain't gonna be happy seein' someone like me around..." He looked down and frowned, "they try t'keep people like me in so no one finds out that this place is still full of people sufferin'..." Just a whole population desperate for escape, or aid, and it never came, so that same population became wild. He looked up and smiled back at him, chuckling, "thanks, mate...S'nice 'avin' someone offer t'take care'a me..."

Lucio only chuckled as he rests his chin on his knee with a low noise. "Yeah, went to school and everything to learn," he'll mumble before shaking his head. Yeah this place is different than everywhere else but it still has to have some good in it, right? "I'll try and not worry," he'll reply softly as he takes uncurls a bit so he can take the bowl from the other to glance at it. Looks.. well. Can't complain though, it's food. He'll scoop up a bit to get a taste. Hm, not bad. Lucio then got another spoonful with a pleased noise.

"Well, they're not happy no matter what anyway, besides, you shouldn't worry what other people think," Lucio pointed out as he settles the bowl on his lap so he can put his hand on the other's shoulder. "I'll see if I can get help here whenever I get out. I won't let you suffer anymore, alright?" He then got his bowl again to get another small spoonful, swallowing before talking again. "You're welcome. It's no problem. Best I could do is fix minor wounds just in case and all that."

Jamison's attention perked at that and he grinned, "oh yeh? So wot d'they call it?" He tucked into his own food as he watched him curiously, "if they taught it it must have a name, so wot moves d'yew got?" He was half tempted to get the young man to show him what he learned, would that be weird? He chuckled, pondering as he ate, "ye'll have t'show me sometime, I'd be curious t'see." He was glad that Lucio's reaction to his cooking wasn't entirely terrible, he'd always fancied himself a pretty resourceful chef, especially considering his options and how...Limited...They tended to be.

He smiled as he glanced over at him, he was such an optimistic young man, it was refreshing to see such sunshine in someone for a change, "yew 'ang onto that outlook. This place needs more blokes like yew..." He personally felt that the outback was a lost cause, but Lucio's words did give him the slightest flicker of hope, "thas' all I want...I jus'...Want people t'know we're here." He swallowed and looked down, "yew got a voice in th'world that I don't...So maybe yew kin change people..." It still felt too good to be true, but a fragmented, broken sense of hope was all that kept him going anymore. He chuckled, "it's good t'have an extra set'a hands. And...It's good t'not feel trapped in yer own'ead...Alone"

"Capoeira," Lucio answered with a nod and a small grin. "It's hard to explain, but it's a multiple of different things. It's used as martial arts, communication, so it's awesome." He continued as he gets another spoonful of the food, swallowing it with a low noise. "Yeah, I don't mind showing you all that. It'll be fun." Lucio then nodded as he moves a bit to get more comfortable. This food is actually good and he's enjoying it a bit.

"I'll totally try," he'll mumble as he blushes lightly before laughing softly. "You're really nice, I'm surprised that you're alone," Lucio said softly before moving a bit to face the other better. "I'll make sure everyone knows and I'll make sure they help too. I'll even send food and everything myself." So nice and helpful. He just wants to make the best of everything. Lucio nodded as he finishes up his food before putting it to the side with a sigh. "Maybe it'll help, I want to try, and I would like to help you as much as I could."

Jamison looked up at that, tilting his head, "thas' a funny word...Cap..Capo...uh..." He snickered and blew a raspberry, "ha! Accent makes that one tricky." He grinned wide though and scooted closer, looking him over with interest, "so yew kin really kick some serious ass, eh mate?" He found himself incredibly eager to see Lucio break out some of those moves, he chuckled, "M'glad my cookin' ain't half bad...Imagine wot I could do with some real ingredients." Using shitty army rations made making quality meals difficult, he did his best, but it would be cool to show Lucio what he could do with quality stuff.

He looked genuinely surprised at that statement, laughing and shaking his head, "Nah mate. I ain't nice. I'm jus' doin' wot's right." If Lucio thought he was nice, how shitty was the world outside really? He gave him hopeful eyes at his words, "gettin' that help t'these people would do a world of good...It..." He sighed, "it might be too late...But it's worth a shot, eh?" He set his own bowl aside when he finished, giving him a genuine smile and taking his hands, "it really does mean a lot, mate. Yew'd be doin' somethin' no one out there bothered t'do."

Lucio then started laughing as Jamie tries to say the word, smiling more but he did notice the other scooting closer. However he didn't point it out or anything. He's actually not scared or bothered by the closeness. "Yeah, accents will do that. It's totally fine," he'll say as he laughs, moving a bit to curl up again, resting his chin on his knee. "Hey, it's pretty good. I liked it. Probably end up like a professional chief, or something. Why not? That'll be great actually. Everyone would love you." Aw, Lucio.

"Well, you're nice to me," Lucio said with a low grin. "Doing what's right is what makes you good and nice," he continued before laughing softly again. "I'll still do what I can, promise." The touch though made him blush lightly, blinking a bit before smiling more. "You guys are people too, I want the best for everyone that I can try and help."

Jamison couldn't help but to laugh when Lucio did, his laugh was addictive and even a bit beautiful, it was different from the sounds he was used to hearing, "Yer laugh is beautiful, mate..." He turned a light pink in his cheeks when he said that, swallowing and looking to the side. He looked back over at the young man when he mentioned being a professional chef, giving a good humored little snort, "I dunno 'bout alla' that, but if...If I do make it outta'ere with yew...I'd like t'try an' cook yew a real dinner..." He cleared his throat with a blush, "y-y'know...As thanks?" He attempted to give him a friendly grin, before thinking better of it and turning away. He'd always thought he had the worst smile.

He tilted his head, giving a simple, matter of fact shrug, "yew ain't given me no reason not t'be...I mean..." He laughed and reached to scratch at his chin, "yew coulda' easily turned that handgun on me an' landed some good shots. But yew didn't..." He snorted and fixed him with an amused grin, "granted I think that was because yew were scared shitless...Sorry about that by th'way..." He nodded and looked down thoughtfully, "ah...Wish th'rest of th'world saw that. We aint people no more t'most folks. We're animals. Dumb, wild animals." He looked to the side with a dark expression, "they'd prob'ly be content puttin' us down like animals too." It was a rather morose thought, but true.
